  1. No wonder mikuni's are hard to find, they're all in your garage what's the lambo airbox setup look like?
  2. Merry Christmas from Autobarn I actually got some monroe inserts many moons ago.....When I first purchased the car, they were junk, a slinky would have more bump/rebound resistance I've also run KYB GR2's with king springs and found them to be great. What paint did you use on the headers?
  3. From the outside edge of the rotor it's around 6-7mm to the back face of the rotor groove in the caliper.... If that makes sense hehe
  4. Those look like the same size and length efi ram tubes I had on my triples from efi hardware.

My bottom end is assembled, still waiting on the headers I' running flat tops and they had to deck the block, so I have about .25mm positive deck height. Should be fine by the looks of those bad boys Peter
  6. With the RX-7 pads in a 12+8 caliper the pad material is in a different place so the do sit in 5-8mm from the edge. All I did was redrill the pin holes at the back of the pads to set them in the right place. If anything the hilux 12+8 calipers sit a little closer to the standard hub.
  7. I got my tp magna rotors off eBay for $45, I never measured the diameter but when I sat them on top off the old rotors they were the same size...
  8. I shot a little vid of the car earlier today, will do another one once i have the new motor in.
  9. I'm running an RX-7 club sport pad from Project Mu. Was a few weeks old but went straight in, only thing I did previously was redrill pin holes in the pad backing plate to get pad material in the correct spot. If you compare the pad to a regular hilux 12+8 the pad and backing plate material is actually set deeper on the RX-7 pad. Other than that they will fit.
  10. I am tossing up getting an new set of extractors as the new ones were on my parts car when I got it and maybe arent up to the new engines capabilities. Feeback wanted........ Peter Mc especially??? New Header dimensions are 42.7mmx6, 45mmx2, 60mmx2. First pic is the current set. Second is the new set.
  11. Thanks to you too Pete, This forum has been a great source of friendship and information
  12. Hey NZeder nice work! I have a question, would this be short enough to clear an oversized brake booser?
  13. You should check the timing after the adjustments you have made, I'm tiping thats out too which will make it run like crap
  14. I agree with Scoota.... Toyota will bend you over, try Burson. The vented S12+8 calipers are from an 86-88 4runner.
  15. Here's the pic. The front bleeder has about 25mm clearance and the rear has a truckload
  16. I've done this mod, there are no clearance issues, one of them is a little harder to bleed. If you really want to you can remove the bleeders and put them on the other side with a some extra work. I just left them on the right side as I won't need to bleed it again. I also fitted my 240 reserviors and caps as they were in very good condition.
  17. I finally did the amp/fuel gauge to volt/fuel gauge swap in the dash, was straight foward. Thanks Dimitri Also fitted some TP Mangna vented rotors and fully rebuilt Hilux S12+8 calipers to the front end, this required 260z hubs to give correct offset and no spacers were used. I had to replace all seals in the calipers so I separated/stripped them down and machined out the rotor groove from 22mm to 27mm. Bolted back together and fitted new pads. YAY, no more brake fade......... I hope! I color matched all calipers and rotor hubs to car color, which look pretty sweet I think Last was the easiest, just put a badge on the rear spoiler and color matched some of Lurch's top notch metal work. Just wanted it to look ok until final repairs/paint are done.
  18. Great, got some on the parts car. Thanks NZeder!
  19. I have rebuilt S12+8 calipers for a vented rotors, new vented magna rotors DBA221's. The calipers have been machined wider to accomodate the 24mm thick rotor and I have bolted the disc rotors to 240 hubs on the car only to find that the calipers wont even go anywhere near fitting. What am i doing wrong? Will 260z hubs give me the extra 10mm bigger offset I need?
  20. I run an original f54/p90 L28 and have exactly the same oil pressure at idle and revs as you whittie............ Mine is was a secondhand unmodified turbo motor with 8.3-1cr from japan, could it be the turbo oil pump giving the higher oil pressure?
  21. Merry christmas to all. Thanks to everyone for all the help/advice Why isn't there a santa smiley... ha
  22. Picked up the Ricey today, blew the cobwebs out on the way home A big THANKYOU goes out to Lurch for all his fine work so far !
  23. Lmao. I thought it was Christmas, not April fools
  24. Longer ram tubes give better low down torque, shorter give top end. I ran nothing for 18mnths then bought 105mm ram tubes on my old 40mm dellorto's, these were pretty close to the strut tower, but ok. There was no difference in top end but low down was much improved. The minimum clearance for uniterrupted flow is meant to be around 25mm from the face of the tube otherwise you'll get too much turbulence, which is bad. I based my reason for picking long tubes on the V8 supercars, they shift a 7200rpm and run longer ram tubes. I got the 105mm ram tubes from Steve Newing at EFI Hardware in Melbourne. The bottom pic is my dellortos on Rev's zed after I sold them.
