  1. I used fatmat along the floor, transmission tunnel and boot, can't say it made a noticeable difference..
  2. Thanks fellas, let me know how you go. The two I found on eBay in the US, sellers don't want to post internationally.. Cheers
  3. Please see piece circled for clarification on part required. Why do I feel like this is going to be a pain to replace...
  4. Good morning all, I am in need of a two seater 240/260z, left/passenger side upper door chrome molding. I went for a drive yesterday and since coming home, it's managed to go missing. I believe it's on the side of the road somewhere through Reefton. Any assistance in sourcing one would be greatly appreciated! I am located in Melbourne. Thanks, Adam
  5. That was my next step Billy, cheers. I am all ears for any other suggestions.
  6. Gday all, Hope you guys could give me an idea into what could be happening. Bit if background, I have a '73 240z running an L28 with a 280zx electronic distributor, MSD 6A ignition, stock tacho with MSD tacho adaptor/booster. My issue is the tacho fluctuates with every indicator flash, drops dramatically when the headlights are on (relays installed) or if my heater blower is on. Note, driving/revving does not change, purely a tacho reading issue. I have just bought a new battery and had a 280zx internally regulated alternator installed about two years ago. Any ideas what is causing this fluctuation? It's bloody annoying! Cheers, Adam
  7. Fortunately, I haven't had the need to make any claims and can't comment on that part. But so far, so good in terms of agreed values. They've been happy to so far agree on $30k without questions asked for a premium of $200 a year. No claim history, garaged every night, etc. Would be interesting to hear what others have had their zeds insured for though. I plucked that number from thin air and they've agreed without issues.
  8. Racv veteran and vintage classic car insurance, not regular. Free roadside assist with the policy.
  9. What sort of leaks are you referring to? Do you have a picture? I have been running my brand new OERs for a good year now. Stacked on a heap of Kms and I have seen a bit of dry fuel on my heat shield.
  10. Beautiful, love your attention to detail.
  11. Sorted out the brake caliper pin. Just picked up a random Nissan one and it fits. Will buy tie rod ends from swm. Thread can be closed, thanks.
  12. SWM looks like the go for tie rod ends. Bursons wanted $84 or something per side. Thanks for the offer, Mark. I'm trying to steer away from rose jointed parts as much as I can! Does anyone have an old caliper they could spare a pin for me? zcardepot's postage is a little bit much for a single part
  13. Hi all, I am just after one of those brake caliper pins which hold the pads. The one I have doesn't appear to be the right one and is very loose. Just after the one but will buy 2 if needed. I am also after a pair of new tie rod ends if anyone has a source, or some they would like to get rid of. Not urgent. All to suit a 1973 240z. Postage is fine on both items. Please contact via PM. Cheers, Adam
  14. Thank you gents Definitely not up to the quality and standard of some of the builds on here but it'll do me for now..
  15. It'll all depend on your tyre selection. I've been running 15x8 0 and 15x8.5 -6 with 185/55 from memory and I can tell you now you'll need a roll out back. Hasn't given me any grief with hard hills driving. You should be able to get away with a 195/xx but any wider and you may need to begin flaring.
  16. I've just 'finished' tuning a set of 45mm OERs I bought new from Kameari and the only issue I've really had is leaning at the upper end of the lower circuit. Changing to Weber pilots with smaller air correctors have helped. My idle setup haven't caused any issues so far. What other issues have people had with the OERs?
  17. Awesome! Your car's going to look almost identical to my car from suspension right down to wheel and centre colour choice
  18. Let me know how you go with that, Taylor.. They look good enough for me (and my car). Worse comes to worse though, I will just buy the ones linked on the 1st page by mossy.
  19. I think that'll have to do if no ones got one..
  20. I have noticed that there's quite a bit of demand for them.. Wonder why. Was a there a thief going around back in the 70s and 80s picking the buttons off or something?
  21. Thanks, Gav. I'll give him a shot.
  22. Hi all, I'm in need of the factory gear knob button which shows the '1,2,3,4,5,R' numbers and sits on the factory wooden gear knob. It was missing when I purchased the car a few years back and the knob alone is digging into my hands lol Any help is much appreciated. I am in located in Melbourne but the button's tiny and will fit in an envelope. Cheers, Adam
  23. I try to take my Z out any chance I can get. The biggest factor is obviously the weather, but any excuse to drive, I will make a decent effort to get out. The drives I go on generally only involve 3 other cars though, and with drivers I know. Unlike many others, I don't hit the hills to go as fast as I can, the track is there for that.. I hate driving with people who stupidly cross double lines, speed unnecessarily, etc. I love the relaxed, non stressful drives. Sure there's areas where you pick up the pace but not to extreme levels. So unless the car's not behaving, weather's not wet, or the missus doesn't get in the way, you'll probably see me somewhere on the roads
  24. Thanks Dimitri, that would be great. I've been a little busy myself and haven't had the chance to pull it out unfortunately.
  25. Good spot! I haven't actually pulled mine out but they're very similar mounts, aren't they... I will rip mine out and double check anyway.
