I haven't started a thread on this car as we've been busy with other projects. Here are some up to date photos of ow it looks now and some of the other cars we own. car 1 #295 car 2 #297 with silver bonnet - undergoing restoration car 3 #1313 we've also got #340 which I will upload some photos when I see the panel beaters next, it was similar to George's car but has been slowly transformed back into something respectable (after a solid 5 moths and alot of money) and will be going back to a stock car with it's original engine.

Safari Gold by the look of it. It seems to be a common thing to do is paint a Safari Gold car Red at some point in it's life.

Nissan Kgc10 'hakosuka' Value In Australia
curtis 240z replied to Balinski's topic in General Discussions
A friend of mine bought a c10 GTR replica mid last year, over all its a relatively tidy car but as said it has had rust repairs at some stage and they were on the rough side, in saying that we are fastidious with rust and maintenance. Buy the time the car was landed and registered it owed around 80k. Its had mods done like most of them and has had some engine work. What we understand is this was a fair price given the condition of the car and what the improvements were and yes it is hard to find an honest example as most have had a Mexican restoration. As a few of us have being saying for over 12 months how the Z car prices are rising, the c10 has risen faster as I remember Phil Lee advertising a tidy c10 GTR replica for 45k roughly 5 years ago, that same car would probably retail for around 90k now! -
The z shop in Melbourne sell them brand new in fibre glass copies.

Unfortunately not Gav, I sold it to a guy in Townsville of memory back in 08/09 and it was back as a rolling shell. Not sure what happened to it from there.

The safari gold one above Gav is hs30 #1254. Unfortunately the previous owner who was the second owner parked it in 1989 in the front yard where it sat till around 2007 and it was rotted from the inside out, how ever most of the parts for this car went to build up #379 of memory a few years back.

There has been a few 240z's that I know of which have sold for around 50k in the last twelve months that haven't even hit the market, some have even sold above this figure. To give you an idea one car I sold in the last 18 months with out even advertising it has since sold for double the price I originally sold it for. I think you will find this car will most likely sell for somewhere in the $40k - 50k bracket but presented right (original hubcaps, paint the go fast black stripe gav likes, and take it back to more or less how it rolled of the factory) I wouldn't be surprised if he got around his 50k mark. I believe and coming from a back round in the motor industry good original cars will always be worth good money and recent Auction results are showing this over and over. Unfortunately for us Aussie zeders there is still a strong demand overseas for our right hand drive cars, both a 73 240z and #92 which I might ad after being continually offered 10k for, I sold for full asking to a buyer who specifically wanted a series 1 240z and he is on the look out for another car! -

That car was purchased only a few months ago from a lady in Brisbane for around 35k of memory. -
Not a member on here at this stage. The new owner is active in the classic car scene and experienced with older restorations. It's of to Singapore!

A quick update since it's been a while. #92 is SOLD and is relocating to South East Asia to have a full restoration!

Interesting you mention the above facts about pricing Gav. One reason I'm uncertain about selling #92, we buy and sell a few classics (not only datsun's) and I've always believed the 240/260z's were undervalued, and unfortunately for many future buyers, don't be surprised if the values keep climbing for a genuine example and I believe along with a few other members on here that the series 1's will be the pick and the rest will follow. A 240z I sold 18 months ago has just resold for almost double what I sold it for. A recent example is The Porsche 911, that car has basically tripled in the last couple of years. I hate to say it, but the days of buying a 240z or 260z 2 seater that you could drive home for 10-15k are rapidly dissapearing! -
Still on the market.

top bidder apparently bought another z over the weekend. I have had an offer prior to the end of the Auction, so at this stage it looks like it will be finding a new home!
