  1. I have noticed not many members list there age. Is it because some of us old blokes are too embarassed or the young guns think we won't talk to them. I have had contact with both young and old on this site and believe we have only one thing in common and that is Z cars. Don't be afraid and list your age as we can learn from everyone. Old and Young.
  2. Sold
  3. God some people talk sh@t. Why not weld a piece of steel in there. Save money on nails. Also get some wire from the overhead electricity lines for your wiring harness.
  4. Thanks for the offer mate but I want to get the good one painted first so I can get all the interior out of the house. (car interior that is) The wife is sick of having to work around all the bits I have in various corners of the house. I have to remind her that the car seat in the bedroom is not really going to be there for ever. I am also trying to get that VL out of the shed and the only way that is going to happen is to fix it myself. Anybody out there got a rear wiper motor for a VL wagon? Should be ready to lay the colour on the Z around about the weekend you are free. After that I will certainally making some room around the pool table.
  5. Have a wiring diagram if you want it and some spare flasher units you could try if you want.
  6. Have one but a bit far away. I can send you pics of mine made from two engine stands and some angle and square steel. Knocked it up with my little welder. Peter Allen orignal.
  7. Could be the flasher unit. Does your hazard lights work as they run off different flasher units.
  8. She is a woman and not game to show herself so she has to shout to be heard.
  9. Do you still want that part off my wreck?
  10. Should have got him to hit it harder and got all that rust fixed. Sorry mate just had to be a smart a@S E.
  11. Hey Tim where do you find these Z's in FNQ. Saw a 240/260 in Gracemere last week. First one I have seen in CQ for 20 years. Wonder if he is a member. It was black or dark blue with an enormous wing on the boot. Looked like a daily driver.
  12. All primed ready for rub down a second time than hope to apply top coat next weekend.
  13. Mine is the corrision guard one from Mission Beach Qld. You can bid on e-bay or buy direct buy now from the e-bay site . I have eight anodes in my car. Down low on rear guards in boot, same in back seat behind door above dog leg, one in the door and one on the rails half way along the engine bay. They are easy to wire up as everything you need is included. Just follow instructions. I used a total of eight. [one each side]
  14. Got one in mine as a friend with old falcon GT''s swears by them.
  15. Looking good mate. My pc died and have not been able to access site for a week. In regards to the paint My paint has a small amount of fleck in and need some advise. Can I lay about three top coats on wet and let dry and rub back and apply some more colour and rub than apply the clear acrylic. How many coats of clear can I apply after that before polishing? I hope I am doing this in the correct order if not let me know please. Thanks.
  16. Thought I had better say how good your car looks after the encouragement you give me. One ? Do you wet sand each colour coat or lay them on wet then let dry before applying clear coats. Well done mate.
  17. Hi Rev, I am following directions from another site as to painting a car. I will lay a mist coat of flat black on top of primer tomorrow and rub that back then if all goes well I will top coat. An old mate of mine has give me some tips and I know it's a lot of work but he achieved good results with acrylic paint. I don' t want to upset the neighbours as you can see where I am painting from my pics. The guy next door has a Merc and I don't want to have fix that from fallout from 2 pac paint. As it is I stilll have to prime the inside of the guards and probably would be best to paint them on the car. Still have the bonnet to rub back but find it difficult to paint horizontally. Maybe I should use a step ladder. What do you think.
  18. Got the primer on today. Now all the hard works starts.
  19. Starting to look like a car again. Well it's out the back for me and some more rubbing down to do.
  20. Nothing flash here mate. All is standard with new shocks etc.
  21. All 280 Z 's must have gone to FNQ
  22. Thanks Rev. Picked up primer from MPA Refinish Supplies today and these guys are very helpfull in advising me what steps to take. They are only too helpfull in mixing the paint I want and will match it. They mainly do work for trade and are also agent for POR 15. That is how I found them. The rest is up to me as a pro job is just out of reach of my budget. With the help from the guy up above it will tuirn out alright from a distance. Troncy.
  23. What a job, Have fitted new guards and light pods. Found the right hand side one had been filled with bog as it was very proud to the guard. Was just about to fill the guard with bog then decided to rub the pod and found heeps of bog. Check out the pics and now the gaps are great. All I have to do now is gap the doors and start to paint. This is going to be the most frighting part. Will let you know how it turns out.
  24. Postage only $20 reg mail for under 20kg. Sent a set of extracters to Melbourne for $20 reg mail.
  25. Guards were nissan parts. A few ripples on one guard but that is this how any new panels turn up. The usual gap fitting must be done but I am happy with what I got having seen new panels on other cars at the work shop. Shaun and Steve turned up today to pick up my old guards and it was great to have a chat with a couple of nice young fellows. Got rid of old guards and picked up a brand new petrol pump. Thanks Shaun.
