  3. Just noticing how many of these adds have been posted in the last few months. One that has made me laugh is this Joker Someone should contact him and over him a bonnet and a pair of door handles haha http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/shepparton-3630/cars-vans-utes/datsun-240z-260z-project-car-wanted/1080391035
  4. no this does make sense........when it comes to these things its not really a one size fits all purchase......i shall add it to the dream list........now approaching the 35 grand mark haha:)
  5. was thinking of going msa twice pipes, love the sound!......this is tempting and local:)

  8. ill take the valance! is it pretty straight? and all 3 pieces there? cheers lawrence
  9. Why u selling Jason? Thought u did most of your racing in it?
  10. thanks Jason, check your pms i also have a lead on some 44 mikunis..........i want to get an idea of stripdown rebuild prices of them as they will need it and will have to work this into a budget if i go with them or if the webers can be inspected and are ok i'll go with them..........decisions decisions
  11. Hi guys I have found a set of triple 45 13bs but im up in brizzy so cant inspect.... any weber gurus near DEE WHY that can have a look for me? are 13bs ok? I cant remeber which stamping are the ones to steer clear of ......... the ones on the alfas cheers!!!!!!!!
  12. a beautiful car done right....but 68 grand.......hmmm.......thats restored xa hardtop territory:)
  13. I have been trying to do a law degree full time while working full time..... no where near as exciting as actually building something i can tell you right now......on the upside i am procrastinating really well and have got more done on the z in the last month than i have in the last 6:) yep procrastinating again while i have text books on my lap...........back to it i guess.........
  14. yep they are pretty horrible looking:) managed to make a stingray ugly haha
  15. I had a whole front end- valance, scoops, lights, indicators all in great nick just in case i was ever in an accident however.....a clueless family member binned them a few years ago while i was over seas thinking it was junk.......was very pissed! note to self when storing a car in someone elses shed place all spares inside the car
  16. Yeah im thinking i want to go back to original. thats a possibility:) are all the pieces straight and mounting tabs in good order? rust issues? Only issue with my dam is a small crack in the lip nothing structural a little filler and it will be fine and..... i was hoisting the car onto a carrier and didnt watch the angle of the chain that was going through the brake duct to the tow hook and mannaged to crush it a little.....nothing major either..... the ducts are really deep so you could just cut the cracked bit off and you wouldnt know the difference.
  17. Anyone have a set after putting on an air dam? I think I want to take mine off. Cheers
  18. yep the market has gone a little crazy in the last few years so glad i got in when i did.......would like to ad a 1600 to the garage also before they go mental also:)
  19. Hi ben you know of anyone that does fg rear light panels? Would buy your CF one but I want to paint an orig colour which completely defeats the purpose and the price tag cheers
  20. good luck is all i can say:) had to get mine from a guy in nz:) whoever decides to make new ones will make a killing...........
  21. haha Im sure it is but for those that want a v8, a zed would not be on the radar for a vast majority.........most 'classic' V8 enthusiasts i know only care about straight line speeds, not throwing one in a 1000kg car and taking on twisty mountain roads:) you ever see a classic muscle car being tossed around corners? besides a race prepped one:) Also, i dont want to drive a zed that sounds like every other v8 falcon or como on the road haha give me the scream of an angry triple carbed l28 any day:)
  22. i hadnt seen the new pics........that interior needs some work...... new seats and retrim........hmmmm....reminds me of mine when i first got it with blood red inserts and dodgy monza race seats (page 11 of the members gallery)
  23. I am wanting to track down this car as now that I am a little wiser I am kicking myself i didn't buy it.......the ignorance of YOUTH! in 2006 I test drove a 1970 907 dark green 240z who was in possession of an old bloke with a passion for VWs (those boxy country buggy things) It was totally original matching numbers car with original gearbox and jellybean mags. I would love to know what happened to it...........At the time i was stupid and didnt appreciate what i was looking at and when he said i could have it for 8 grand I said i could go no higher than 6. as it did need some work and I wasnt as handy as i am now. Im wondering if anyone knows anything about it? I have a feeling he ended up selling/giving it to his son who lived down the gold coast? I think I saw him selling it again on carsales about 5 years agos and was contemplating again whether i could fit another z in teh drive way..........sense got the better of me and i didnt follow up on it. ANYONE? I'm hoping it found its way to this forum? looked identical (a little faded) to this..... http://www.zhome.com/History/ZColorGallary/907DarkGreen2.jpg
  24. Hi Rev Id be keen on seat covers and diamond trans tunnel and MAYBE door trim.....the do have the chrome strips? send me prices and ill consult the bank account Cheers!
  25. yep agreed but even with highly modified transplants few would want an LS z, just doesn't 'seem' right and wouldnt be one for most on this forum who are purists (generalising)......rbs are more accepted and desired in the z world as its still manufacturer specific and 6 cylinders....... v8 guys wouldnt normally consider a z as a project car therefore would most probably over look it or not want to decent money for it... i could be wrong though and lets face it......i hear the snarls already.... but a bus with an rb is not money well spent for looks or desirability
