  3. DROOOLLL, look at that engine!!!! What a work of art. Jake is one lucky bugger....
  4. Was looking at the rocky auto web page the other day to see how much their RB converted zeds sell for and if I am converting correctly they are asking ~$90,000 AUD then you have to add the cost of bringing it back to Oz!!!!
  5. Must be for the American market cars. AFAIK we only got 5 speed boxes?
  6. The yellow 240z is far from being rust free, also add another $1000 to transport it back to Perth and hope there isn't any issues that need rectifying to get it relicenced here in WA.

  8. Good condition 240k two door are actually harder to find then 240z !!! Well done on the fast sale.
  9. If you think you'd want another 240k two door down the track, my advise would be to sell your other car and keep this one. You will be lucky to find a second one and every man and his dog wants a two door 240k.
  10. Ok thanks, that clears it up. Will have a proper look at the shell when I get it home.
  11. Car is starting to look very good!!! Just read the whole build thread again but couldn't spot the chassis number?
  12. Sorry guys, #220 sold to me It's missing the original engine and needs lots of work , but it's an early shell so it's still worth saving. Orginal colour is orange. Going to sit on the shell for a rainy day project. Still have to finish my yellow RB26 240Z first! Does anyone know how I can tell what the engine block number should be as I have been told the early cars don't have the aluminum plate in the engine bay?
  13. Hi everyone, as some of you may know my project 240Z with RB26DETT engine project has somewhat stalled over the last few years as getting married, buying a house and having kids used up all of the time and funds. So as an early Christmas present to myself I bought a car that has been well rebuilt and is ready to be driven and enjoyed. Here are some of the specs as detailed by the PO: Datsun L28 engine with new N42 block, E88 head, Wade cam, FIA valve springs, 10:5 compression, 280 zx valves, ported, polished, cc’d head, hepolite flat top pistons, bottom balanced and blueprinted, block deck heightened, L34 conrod bolts, conrods resizes, lightened and balanced flywheel 280z 5 speed manual transmission and differential Complete bare metal refinish in Audi Europe Blue metallic Mercedes Benz/Volvo front rotor/caliper disc brakes Skyline R31 rear rotor/caliper disc brakes Power Central Locking and immobiliser Eclipse CD3413 AM/FM/CD/MP3 Car stereo Alpine SPR694A 6x9speakers in customer cabinets Alpine MRVF340 power amplifier Infinity REF105T dome tweeters BAZOOKA EL804 sub woofer AMG Matrix D2 16” Mag Wheels with locks Yokohama 205/55ZR16 93W A539 high performance tires Odyssey ES12V1000 high performance battery (I've since replaced it with a yellow top Optima battery) Stainless steel mandrel bend straight through exhaust Custom billet gear knob Autotechnica custom wood rim Nissan steering wheel Hills heavy duty rear springs ST240/LW260 Hills heavy duty front springs lower 260z Koni heavy duty shock absorbers New radiator with high performance electric fan Rear strut brace High performance rubber grommets throughout steering assembly Interior dash, seats, console, carpets and doors replaced or renewed The car is a 10/74 shell and has been built by Datrally/Powerplay, a professional race/rally car builder outfit in Cheltenham Vic and has been dyno tuned at 105 KW at the wheels. The car is a joy to drive and gets lots of comments even more then my Ozzy delivered R32 GTR.
  14. Would love to be there but I have to work!!! Can one of the Perth boys take lots of pictures pretty please?
  15. RIP Aidannn. My thoughts are with Aidannn's family and friends in this hard times that they are going through. The Z community is such a close bunch of enthusiast that it makes it feel like we all know each other although some have never meet. Very sad news indeed. :'(
  16. Hi Kobes best to call before 4pm daily as I work in the evenings.
  17. I have a 240z chassis number #793 that I am thinking of selling. It has a P90 head F54 block L28 engine combo but also comes with the matching engine. Call me on 0409 930 177 if you are interested.

    Camshaft ID

Hi all I am trying to identify a camshaft in my L28 P90A head motor. The markings that I can find are 721 stamped on the end of the cam, also CWC and D2 on other parts of the cam. I have been trying to get the motor tuned up, have done valve timing etc but can't get it to drive nice at low rpm so I am trying to find details of the cam. Thanks in advance, Cuong
  19. Hi Kane, I have four 2 seater zeds that I may consider selling. Two are 240z and two are 260Z two seaters. Not interested in the Silvia, just a straight cash sale !! Call me if you are interested 0409 930 177. Prices depends on the car, best to view them in person and discuss. Cheers Cuong
  20. Hi Kane, what is your budget for one, and are you looking for one ready to drive or a project?
  21. Hi Hoa, Just sent you a PM. I have 5 zeds which I'd consider selling one to you. Give me a call if you are interested in viewing them. Cheers, Cuong
  22. Welcome. There are a few of us here that are from Perth. Good luck trying to find a 2 seater, they dont turn up much for sale anymore these days! What sort of budget do you have for one?
  23. I was posting up the issues of driving an early zed to point them out to Gus. I knew some of you would have jumped up and said that you can drive these cars as a daily, but thought I'd make a potential buyer aware of the issues. Each to their own I guess.
  24. Gus, in reality a zed as a daily driver is not really practical for a first car. I love my zeds and have 5 of them at the moment and have owned many more in the past, but never would use one as my daily drive or would I consider owning one as my only car! My reasons for not having a zed as the only car: 1) fuel smell in the cabin! well known problem with zeds and can be very hard to rectify, not nice for continued use!! 2) window wipers almost non existant, makes driving in the rain VERY dangerous. 3) other small issues that may or may not happen such as fuel vapour lock etc. Others will dissagree with me but my advise is NOT to get a zed as your only car Cheers, Cuong
