Very vague (same as last year when they had one on display), but the guy did say, that the final price will be established when they get few orders confirmed. I cant remember now, but he quoted either 20-30 or 30-40K..Cant recall. Hammered here after 4 days.

I think I'm growing into freeing myself from shackles of "norm". IF (the key word) the mods are executed with quality and synergy in mind, you can create a really unique car that still works from all angles. My red 240 is modded, but well, its kind of boring to be honest (to me). I do want more of me in the car, I like alcantara, carbon and the race feel in and out. I will be selling a lot of parts soon

Greddy was nice, but it had too many faults for my liking in the paint job. Just a shame, because otherwise it was a nice car. OS Ginken took the cake for me.

So went to SEMA thought to share this with you while still here and fresh in my mind. I have changed my outlook on what the modified S30 should be for me.

OK, so got the end-pipes with no dogs and the sounds is a lot more aggressive, as I wanted (it was already with 4 dogs), but now creates unfavourable note past 5,000 RPM which I don't like at all. Looks like I needs something in-between so fitting up the rear dogs again, this time 1/2 the the previous model length which should, in theory, give me the in-between sound I'm after (slightly more aggressive than the 4 long dogs, but without the top end note I get in the current no rear dogs format)

Experimenting with rear exhaust. The set of 4 dogs worked very well, but now trying 2 dogs as resonators (one on each line) and nothing at back. Lets see how she sounds tomorrow. I just dont want any mufflers at back and its a bit of a trial and error to get it just right for me. Getting New seats soon and a harness.

Agree..Took mine out today for a blast with my 13 yo as a passenger. Everywhere we stopped, comments, picture taking etc. I honestly don't get that much attention in other, very neat cars. Love my Z !

Thanks a lot!..So Dashboard all ready for a detailed strip down and my OCD treatment Have built a large table thanks to my old garage door (knew it would come handy one day) and will spread it all out. Interesting original detail I've never seen on other cars. Also saw something written in chalk under the glove box insert..Any Japanese interpreters out there? Should go out to DashBoard Doctor week after next.

yeah, no chromate on the hinges, but I agree, would look better. The white example above. Is it really 1971 production?. The chassis number seems high for 71 and not a twin cable. Am I the only one to notice this?? Close up of the dog legs(L&R) and the front 1/4 panels lower sections, just to clear up my mind re repairs on these sections please. Cheers.

OK, GOOD news..I've made a commitment to a powder coating equipment and other parts cleaning, coating and necessary "man cave" must haves' for rejuvenating original parts............. BAD news...I cant get my shell into deeping till February 2016. (yes, decided to deep, just no way to seal and remove any traces of internal,in-between joints, panels etc rust not accessible or visible from the outside. Blasting is OK, but deeping I'm now convinced is much better. So, focus on parts, bits and pieces, new carbies, detail, detail, detail and when the engine, gearbox, diff etc are all ready, so will hopefully be my shell. Will update next as I rejuvenate bits and pieces.. Best dash restorer suggestions?

Hey, thanks a lot!..I just had a look at your build thread and I can see why you feel this way. You've had a bad start there, but your Z is looking very nice now. I want that engine in my E24 Shark. Recently supercharged 2 x E46 M3's, so I would absolutely recommend the set-up if you want to go down the forced induction route. That six, is the best engine BMW ever made and I believe I'm not the only one to say this over the last 13 years or so. Should fly!.

Thanks Gav. It was an amazing sight..I can picture what you suggested, pitty I didn't have my Z there for the pic, I would have definitively made the effort. OK, so here is my Z now. No major surprises, everything actually looks very well preserved including lots of rust proofing in the doors and other strategic to S30 areas. Its a good base, I'm happy. EDIT..Only surprise are the wosp nests ..Under both guards.

Just got back from Townsville, did 5,550 or so km's from Sydney to Melbourne to Townsville and now back to Sydney for my daughters birthday..Awesome trip (as always is the case in the country)..This is what I saw on the way...and later when I got back today..My 240 is well and truly in pieces now

Hi. Thanks, yeah I wanted an original example and with the twin cable as the 71 was my 1st car. In terms of nasties. Nothing more than I already knew when I bought the car. Engine was stuffed, gearbox shot (synchors at least), diff noisy, doglegs bogged up, entire paint very poor (you would not see this from distant pictures), but the entire car was like 100 grid rubbed and painted over (I kid you not). Rust wise, so far, we took screens out yesterday, front was 100% original underneath the seals and 100% rust free in channels which surprised even me, the back has a little rust on the bottom section, but nothing major (will show pics when I come back, in Forbes NSW now on my way to Townsville QLD). Doors look solid, but it did have some repairs before. Overall, nothing I did not expect or did not see when I bought the car and having planned to strip it all apart, I expected the worst. I could have bought something else out there, but I would have done the same thing to no matter what "original"car I've bought, because for the last 2 years or more, (and some of you would have seen my shout-outs for a decent car out there) I found nothing for sale that I would have classified as a properly restored car (to my very personal standard). I had PM's from owners and businesses out there that claimed to have "the one", but seriously, all I saw was disappointment, after disappointment...and the $$$!! LOL. So, the aim was to buy 71 or earlier (getting tougher) and with all original bits on the car and do a nut and bolt restoration. That is the only way I feel I can get what I really want. As many of you would know, unless you build it, it ain't there....and if I cant pull it off, I can only blame myself. Frankly another one with RB (like yours) would be just ideal, but I'm struggling with garage space ATM..Something I'm trying to resolve without selling the house ;-)
