  1. Oh Mick, that would be the worst!
  2. Bench and manifolds are gone...some 260Z bits like a blower motor are still available..
  3. What model tacho did you use? looks good! Reason is the Wolf ECU can only run a -ve triggered tacho and not the zeds +ve tacho.
  4. Nah Loui, got it from where I used to work. Thought I was going to use it but changed my mind. Still haven't used the welder yet; need gas!
  5. I have an AC compressor, mounting bracket and pulleys and a set of 260Z carbies (good for parts only) that I need removed pref this weekend!! Also, I do have some other 260Z goodies that aren't good for my 240Z so they can be given away too. My ph is o413 2 4 3 7 6 0 . Did I say I need these gone ASAP? House is open for inspection and looks like a mechanics yard = bad thing. Just added is a muffler I had on my previous exhaust system that was from a twin system to a single exit at the rear standard point. It's only about 6 months old and has still lots of use left in it. It has 2x2" mandrel bends joining to one 2.5" or you can remove the smaller pipes and use the muffler. When used with the right resonator, it gives a great low tone without the barky noise off the throttle. I need it gone for $20! Prefer pickup but can courier for approx $35 extra.
  6. First time a towed a tandem with a zed on it with a R31 Skyline (with piss poor brakes from standard) I was amazed with the stupidity of other drivers when it came to traffic lights; you leave a nice gap to have room to come to a stop and these clever people change lanes to get in front of you reducing the limited distance you had. One stage I was ready to slam into the arse of the car in front. If you do decide to tow, borrow a 4WD at least with a braked trailer; at least make it safe.
  7. Its not really a fail unless something is broken or you went all the way and ready to turn the key; When I did Surly's engine swap and fitted an electronic dizzy and started it, ran like a dog then re-fitted the points dizzy only to find I messed up the firing order on the electronic one. More of a waste of time than a fail!
  8. Welcome.. I'm also curious which zed you bought. A phone pic would be great if you can! Look forward to the buildup.
  9. Consider also the rolling radius; unless you are not fussed about speedo error correction..
  10. Thanks again everyone..! Everyone here also deserves some recognition also. It's a pleasure to help all of you. Just glad to help fellow zed owners with their car; except if it's a Ford or Holden...
  11. Might be a good idea to get a new one fitted; as one from another car may not fit quite right. Brown Davis ½cage costs around $1200?
  12. Find a Pirtek or Enzed shop for hose fittings. Things like that are a NPT or bizzare thread that bolt places don't really stock.
  13. Cover might inhibit cooling air to it. Is it possible to fit it behind the firewall like behind the glovebox etc? I think anything electronic should be kept as cool as possible. With the Wolf ECU they do highly recommend you mount it in the cabin and not under the bonnet; but that's something different.
  14. Thanks Jimbo, not sure what prompted that but I'm overwhelmed! I'm always willing to help everyone on here who needs a hand as I'm sure all you would too. Just giving back what I'm usually given! Thanks everyone.. Loui and Chris, thanks for putting up with my family! hahaha
  15. Some conditions are that the car can only be used between 7am-7pm, to and from places for repair or to do with the RWC. Not sure about weekends..but i know they do pull you over if they see you driving with the permit on a Sunday...with me twice!
  16. No probz..hope to see you soon Rev! real soon!
  17. Haha...nope sorry.. need to get rid of some parts. I should have a mini-garage sale for Z parts. I do have some 280ZX manifolds if anyone wants! and other misc bits.
  18. Not sure but if they can come quick and pick it up from my house that would be great!!
  19. Won't they be just as hard to find like 240Z lights? I don't see many of those running around. You wish Dunnydore lights looked identical; you find them at milkbars..
  20. Pickup is in Melbourne by the way! Could have just worn stem seals in head.
  21. I'd be in for a day trip... haven't been down there in a while.
  22. I've always seen yellow zinc on restored zeds. Either that or they are painted the body colour as with the low profile headed bolts for the guards.
  23. Heat kills everything so sensitive electronics should be kept as cool as possible; that's why ignition modules die relatively often. In the cabin is a good place.
  24. A well experienced spray painter once told me when painting metallics, even small differences in air pressure can vary the shade; that's why when painting a metallic, do the whole car at once! I learned that with my first 260Z when we painted that in that Datsun light blue metallic 903?
  25. Somebody buy these if you are thinking or racing your zed! These retail for around $700 a pair (Quoted from Toperformance in Mitcham)....bargain!
