  1. None of the ebay kits come with the 4 seals inbetween the calipers which imho would never need to be changed. Failing that you can use the seals for the inbetween bits from your old calipers (i did this). As Simon Said just make sure you get the right set and it's alllll Money!
  2. Wow been a while since an update. Nice work but with the floorpans? i would throw them all to scrap and get new ones. The amount of time you save with a new section is incredible.
  3. Hey guys, i'm chasing a few bits to finish my V8 2+2. Heater Core Heater Matrix (square box that screws on behind the vents) Rear Strut Caps Fuel Tank and if anyone one knows where i can get some black carpet either new or good second hand gear. Hope someone here can help, not in a real rush for the parts but it would be nice to finish her off. Cheers.
  4. Perhaps you could get somone to gold leaf the three signatures. They will take a template then use that to transfer an adhesive. Brush on some gold leaf, do some airbrush shadow work and BanG.
  5. I like it, i all ready moved the plate but if i need any more i can follow your idea. The only place i'm lacking clearance is on the number one header tube now but i can notch some more tube out and leaves me stacks of room. Ta Muchly.
  6. No that wouldn't work. The steering has 26mm of adjusment at the top mounting for variances in manafacturing. I would say all steering columns are welded in a Jig . There i can grind the plate off and move it up a maximum of 15mm and increase the angle of the steering shaft getting it further away from the exhaust and closer to the chassis rail on that side. I'm increasing the angle so that won't be an issue. I'm looking forward to getting into an accident now just so i can test all my modifications.
  7. Do you have any experience in modification of vehicles?
  8. Hey just wondering if anyone has ground the plate from the bottom of their steering column and moved either up or down? Looking for the smallest amount of clearance in my V8 Zed between the exhaust and the steering shaft. I suppose if it doesn't work i can always change it back.
  9. Yea what gives? Fill us in.
  10. I just stripped two of them to bits and threw the metal to scrap. Why not go for MX5 seats or RX8? I have fitted both to Zeds.
  11. Not even close to 260Z seats, i'm thinking toyota crown.
  12. You're right on the money with your last post but KatoKid. I did read the whole document so don't anyone else be listening to your mate down the Local with the WRX, get it straight from the engineer you will be working with and work out solutions that will suit you both.
  13. That rule applies only if you do not wish to get engineering approval. Capacity is the main part of it but if you're over 20%.... That would mean my L28 Powered Zed would need engineer cert for modified brakes and increase in power.
  14. Yes Cheers Gordo, was a great day. The company, conversations and food. Well done all
  15. $88 for coolant?
  16. Bummer. I'll drop your indicator switches off.
  17. Oh no you didn't!
  18. Oh Goodness me. That is way wrong. If you can post a PDF or similar of their work done please do so.
  19. If you're on a roll then stick with it but if you are feeling like motivation is lacking take a different angle and tackle another job. Mix it up for increased interest or teach the build who is Boss. I use both tactics
  20. I agree, you've been pinched! Post up your list if possible.
  21. Wheeling and Dealing it cost me $1900 to build a stock bottomed 302 Cleveland with all the good bits up top and $200 for a conversion kit that i heavily modified. That included extractors, exhaust, electronic ignition, transmission and blah blah blah. Think i've done around 450 hrs work on the car and would've cost heaps more if i had someone do it. As everyone says you can save heaps of bucksdoing it yourself. Having drifted to the dark side with the "heavy" V8 conversion i am still a big fan of my L28 triple carbed 260Z 2 Seater, i just love the sound of it revving.
  22. Oooo with comments like that you'll fit in perfectly here. Welcome!
  23. Cool Cool, it's just a bugcatcher so not too big. I'll get back to you but won't need to be picked up straight away. Cheers
  24. Is anyone in the Nambour or Ipswich, Queensland area able to pick up an ebay item for me and post? It's not too big or bulky.
