  1. The reason i asked about the Thermo Fans is i changed back to a single and took out the relay. Where i had tapped into the fuse block was ignition on. When i switched the ignition off the fan kept spinning as it slowed and it produces eletricity when diong so. It was pumping it back into the ignition keeping the car running after the ignition was off for a few seconds until the fan slowed enough to stop producing power.
  2. I have three seperate earth's to the engine (one near the distributor one at the gearbox and one at the rocker cover) and one to the Chassis.
  3. Is the motor disassembled and if so are the pistons oversize? Should be marked on the top of the pistons if it is.
  4. Yea Sulio come on down.. i'm coming all the way from Ballarat and Sulio i have your $160 from zrevival/k connors (top bloke) for your springs...Lucky i still have it as he came down on Melbourne Cup day to pick up his Triple Dello's from me and i had it in my sky rocket an hour before the race.
  5. I'm still on for this one Rev
  6. This is the template so i'll cut it out and send it up Tomorrow.
  7. Ok i have the mustache bar. What is the best way to measure it for your purpose?
  8. I found that the reason (the hard way) why these break is if they are incorrectly adjusted. They need to travel almost full length before activating the mechanisim. 180B ones will fit with a slight bit of filing to make them squeze in. I know of two 180B's in Ballarat if people are looking (rally) to get some parts.
  9. Got two off at Dalee's place i can get some measurements tomorrow for ya.
  10. Just had a another look and the closest i have is four 57 idles :-\
  11. Nup sorry, largest i have is 55's.
  12. Final setup on my 45's is 48 idles 230 air correctors 7772.4 emulsion tubes 140 mains 34mm chokes
  13. Oh ah that's the ticket. Currently 75% of Ballarat Z club members working on their cars... C'mon FuzzyDropBear pull your finger out
  14. I seem to stumble upon parts just after i finish tuning :-\ . I got onto these parts through my brother and there are: Around 350 air correctors ranging from 130 to 265 6 7772.6 emulsion tubes (the richest one in tubes) 5 sets of mains (6 in a set) 125 132 140 165 and 175 1 set of idles 55 2 sets of 6 chokes suit 40mm dello's 34mm and 36mm 3 brand new needles and seats 3 pump jets 38 42 and 50 I don't need any of these but i've bought them and thought i would offer them here before they went on Evilbay.
  15. I just rebuilt my 2.6, this my combination. Triple 45mm Dellortos N42 head (with a little work) Mild crow camshaft http://www.crowcams.com.au/search.aspx?EG=58&MK=24&PC=1 Genie extractors (which had a really poor fit and needed 12 hrs work) 280ZX Electronic ignition Hypertec pistons and Hastings Chrome Moly rings (40 Thou oversize) Full balance and hot tank, resized rods and crank modification. Yep i would suggest the N42 head as it has the larger valves but with compression you'll find a large amount of discussion on the validity of increasing the ratio and that it will only give a small increase for the dollars spent. You may be better spending that money elsewhere (even on a decent dyno tune). I suppose the only problem is how worn the block is in regards to fitting specific pistons mine had to go out 1mm as it was that worn, but the engine machinist also did a sonic test on the block to see if it would go out far enough to accept 2.8 pistons... it was not advisable. At some stage in the future i'll try to find a set of flat top 40 thou over 2.6 pistons just so i can see the difference for myself, but i won't put up too much info as i'm sure you'll get a lot of good advice here. Good luck with your rebuild.
  16. Does the car have Thermo Fans?
  17. Just another question. If you run the engine on idle and take off the filler cap, can you feel any air blowing out. If there is it can be a sign that you're losing compression and the engine may require oversize pistons.
  18. Is it electronic ignition? Mine used to blow plugs because the top rings were broken.
  19. Ouch!!! Insulation makes my junk itch sumthin fierce.
  20. On that car the panel was taped off where the lights were and the rest was blacked out via painting. Not sure if they illuminated in their respective colors. (ow too many big word make brain hurt... must stab it with a cue tip )
  21. Did you bleed the Master Cylinder first? If not do so as Dalee and i (on advice) know it works heaps better.
  22. Another time with a mate's work ute (which had only just been repaired) he got out to open the gate so i jumped in the drivers seat to move it in the backyard. Being a bit of a prankster i revved it up and popped the clutch, spinning the wheels. I missed the brake pedal (i had no shoes on) and ploughed straight into the single garage door which moulded over the bonnet like a piece of licorice. Only damage was a tiny chip in the bonnet and i couldn't stop laughing for 20 minutes.
  23. No damage... just my pride as three people seen me do it. :-\
  24. Ok here's an idea, we all make mistakes from time to time and it takes a big person to admit it. Or not. So i was backing into Dalee's driveway today and .... missed
  25. Orange is going to get a set of triples and dale has a cam there too. As to where dale is but i'm sure he'll have a few comments once it gets back from being straightened.
