  1. Actually i can appreciate a person speaking his mind and i do apologise for not replying.... i've honestly not had much luck with buying parts from here which is why i prefer to keep my buying/ selling seperate from this forum. Save from the cylinder head i bought and the heater core that is now in storage i'm just going to stick with the journey cause i know as soon as i get it i won't want it anymore. Ahhhh the Journey 13 years and counting (really only the last three but) What a thread stealer ... my bad.
  2. Oh i though you just diconnnect the battery and drain all the power from the electrical system, or leave it unhooked for a period of time.
  3. Seeing as i am stirring the pot this one is bound to get conversation stimulated. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Datsun-280Z-280ZX-260Z-240Z-FULL-AUTOMATIC-Emblem-NOS-/180555507481?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2a09f26719
  4. Yes you're right, when a whole dash went for $50 on ebay i thought $25 for just a badge was a tad steep.
  5. I have an Auto myself, hardly took it out of second gear alllll the way from Lorne to Apollo Bay. None of that pesky gear changing.
  6. Maybe you have to reset the ECU if it's got one.
  7. My goodness the market has been flooded by auto badges. Hmmm is this a sign of a strenghtening US currency or something more sinister perhaps.
  8. Nice work... can't wait to hear it Should sound a wee better than the old donk.
  9. Google image worked ok. http://www.google.com.au/images?q=260Z%20badge&rls=com.microsoft:en-au:IE-SearchBox&oe=&rlz=1I7GGLT_en&redir_esc=&um=1&ie=UTF-8&source=og&sa=N&hl=en&tab=wi&biw=1259&bih=603
  10. I just swapped it out for a unit that i knew was okish. The starter was getting very hot. Try cleaning the negative lead where it joins to the body too.
  11. My 260Z had the same problem last week which was the starter was stuffed. It was taking most of the battery power to crank and was difficult to start.
  12. Awesome Drive.
  13. How big is it simon? Could i octopie strap it to my bonnet?
  14. My next door neighbour has these Plates on his car that he would sell and is open to offers. Let me know what you think.

    45DCOE Webers

    Anyone know the CFM for 40MM/ 45MM sidedraughts. I've heard 350/ 375
  16. They were like that when dale bought it as far as i know.
  17. Gee i missed this one... i used oxy welding wire to fab mine by first cutting to size slightly less length than the hole, them drilled them out 1mm. It was hard but with a drill press it would be easier. Then i just slid them into place and tapped the top of the hole with a punch to make sure they didn't come out if it backfired at startup. If you use the wire be careful because it's fragile.

    45DCOE Webers

I run Triple 45mm Dellortos with 36mm (correction 34mm) chokes. I calculated this with the help of a friend, he was going to sell me his 45mm webers and then backed out and then said yes again. By this time i was saying i'll go get my own. I started off with 40's on an almost stock motor then after i put a part of one of the rings out the bore i did it rebuild. It now has, 2mm shaved, ported and cc'd N42 Head Stainless valves, arp stud kit, crow cam and springs Adjustable cam gear, Electronic ignition, genie headers Blah, blah blah blah (i could just keep going but you get the idea) I get over 400 kays per tank on highway and on average around 300 city milage with a modified auto. Now what was my point....... a yes the 40MM Dellortos were fine i just wanted 45's out of spite and then bulit the rest of the motor to suit. Once you start modifying it's a full package that will get a good result, bolt on are fine but it depends on what you want and how far you'll go with it. Oh and i'm very pleased with the output of my engine, can't wait to get it on the Dyno.
  19. Hey, that's Mr Modified Auto to you. But seriously ( ) i can fit four slabs in the back. But not if i fit my new blinged out Subwoofer Box. Hmmmm, the Industrial look.
  20. We should start up a virtual AusZcaR Christmas tree and put all our letters to Santa under it. ;D Yes i said santa not satan.
  21. How did you go getting the pins out of the rear arms?
  22. Where have you looked and what type are you looking for? Also if we knew what part of the country you were in would help us out too
  23. I purchased a rear one from these guys, my local speed shop were agents for them. https://rsp-secure.com/rarespares/default.asp?car_type=34A&model=DATSUN 240Z 260Z
  24. Are they 2" Su's? If so they might suit something like the motor i just rebuilt for Dale. The price is at the higher end of the scale but i thnik they would be worth it. Might be better to just ebay them :-\
