  1. If I tried to swing that with the wife I would be sleeping in the shell of the zed. She said it's time to spend money on a car we use every day or some such silly thing...
  2. I've heard all the jokes so bugger off you lot... Last weekend we went away with the little one for the first time and it cemented our decision to buy a larger car. We enjoy touring the country and camping and plan to do more of that in the near future when Benji can crawl around in the mud. We are looking for an automatic, economical, spacious but small SUV or large station wagon. One key feature I would appreciate is adaptive cruise control although it's not a deal breaker. So far my search has centered around the Subaru range - Outback, Forester and Liberty. I've also identified the VW Passat as a possible choice. Although I would love the R36, they are a little too old and not the most economical. I'm also weary of servicing costs associated with the other Euro marques, not to mention their higher price tags. Looking to spend around $30k in the used market. Any suggestions other than the Subaru range?
  3. Enjoyed that even though it played out a little one-sided. Came across it after listening to the Serial podcast which was amazing. Season 2 was interesting but not as good. http://www.npr.org/podcasts/399957726/serial
  4. Welcome aboard. You're amongst other lovers
  5. If I can add, everyone thinks they can get a decent body that needs mechanical work only. That might be the case with other cars - not so with the S30's. The cash is in the metal.
  6. Jurassic World re-watch for me. I'm a bit of a sucker for popcorn flicks. Complete with a big bag of popcorn
  7. To be honest I'm jealous that you're doing it yourself! That was always my plan and as you might recall I wanted to do the TAFE course. That plan was out the window the day I bought the swiss cheese.
  8. Beating you is one of my main motivators. Haha, I have to go back and watch that now. Glad I made that video.
  9. Sad to see a man having to sell his pride and joy under such circumstances. Hopefully the new owner will appreciate it and his achievements.
  10. Don't fret Alex, once the car gets back to me the project will come to a grinding halt... Just enjoying every moment with the little fella and not fussing about getting other things done. At some point early on I recall planning out a schedule of milestone events which had me driving the car by 2020 for its fiftieth anniversary. That might still be possible but it's looking highly unlikely at my current rate of spare time. All Paul on this one His team is of metal wizards are amazing. Should have the car back Oct/Nov.
  11. I will be going with the original colour Pete which is Safari Gold.
  12. That made me chuckle Jeff. Not far from the truth sadly...
  13. Ever since I visited this place I've daydreamed about being a billionaire so that I can do the same in Sydney. A man has to have dreams right...? http://remise.de/Classic-Remise-Berlin-english-summary.php
  14. This would be very important to get any interest.
  15. Nice share Pete. Thanks.
  16. Hey, You might want to elaborate a bit. Condition, budget, location etc. Good luck!
  17. I purchased the complete kit from them over a year ago Gav. Had no issues with transaction and I went with them after research on the Yank forums. Time will tell how well they all fit. http://www.vintagerubber.com/Datsun240ZFullRestoKit-1-1.aspx
  18. Link goes to front page of this site using my iPad.
  19. Good call Pete. Third time's a charm right...
  20. I found one which I will need and I've rifled through all my boxes but can't find one. Will keep looking.
  21. Happy birthday Gav!
  22. ...when I say bought, I mean he saw one. Greetings from Rudi who's on his honeymoon in Japan. He took these photos at the Toyota History Museum. The 432 is a bit rough but still, very jealous!!! Full album here: http://imgur.com/a/pKSOI
