  1. hello George' date='hope you treating that car of yours well,I have a real soft spot for it  Might go for a drive sometime on the weekend if the weathers fine! If you are up for it Pm me and we'll hit the mean streets of our town, should turn a few heads these two. Wheres the photos of your weapon?[/quote'] sure thing. got a few mates that want to check out your car as well. one of them was next to you in a statesman at the powercruise. some pics and vids at http://streetrats.net
  2. what cars? got a 240, a mini clubman and a ke70 rwd monster. well, if you consider about 40hp a monster ^^
  3. all up it was 1700 with two lenses, a memory card, bag and card reader. it was comparative to ebay prices but from a store in sydney.
  4. hi matt yes i got myself a 400D. im really happy with it after returning the first one due to sensor dust that was too stubborn to be blown away. the 10d's are very nice. i'd love the 30d but the budget just doesnt stretch that far. i might be at the nats and if im there the camera will be getting a big workout.
  5. so i spent some money i don't have last weekend and bought a digital slr. takes good pics and i can't wait to test it out properly at night time with long exposures. anyway, i went to hyde park after work one day and came up with these. anyone else into photography? hyde park set last one is a bit out of focus but i still likes it this was just some fun yesterday since it was raining outside mates car, statesman.
  6. i want the red with black hood. damn you for posting this gav.
  7. below applies to nsw only. from memory you can't stick anything over a 302 since the rule change in 1994 and even that was kind of shifty. i was going to do it a few years back. let me see what i can find.... i just checked the RTA site: http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/registration/downloads/vsi/vsi06.pdf it's ALWAYS best to check with an engineer. there's no point in asking us anything. we can speculate and give you answers as per weblinks etc but in the end it comes down to your engineer (and how dodgy they want to be). having said that, you take your tare weight and multiply it by their rate. i believe the 240's are listed as 1020 tare on rego papers?? if so: 1020 * 0.294 (mono) = 300ci meaning there's no chance in hell you can fit a 350 in it. you could get away with a 302 because i know there are documents out there that list the tare weight a bit over the 1020 and an engineer will accept that. check this thread for more info. 4 years old but still valid --> http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6413
  8. heh, here i am ripping badges off all my cars and you people are prepared to pay a days wages on them. different strokes right.
  9. met you at the Z concours in sydney last year. we had a long chat at the time. you were still finishing the car and very excited about it. im george if you remember. had that red 240. good to see it turned out well for you. we'll have to go out one night. it's rare i get to cruise with another Z.
  10. ya they're the pro comp range. the oil and temp are liquid filled but that's a bit of an overkill unless your car really rattles and shakes. i made the mistake of getting the high range oil one so i'm looking to swap it for the low range. as for setting up, not hard at all if you know your way around a Z. remove the dash, feed the lines and hook them up. they sit in the dash like they were made for each other. you can use very weak glue so that your mates don't poke them through by accident (never happened to me though). they do fit really well. i've not used any glue for any gauge. you will have to run an isolator outside the cabin if you run any mechanical pressure gauges so a bit of an extra cost there.
  11. mine has it on the left of the steering wheel.
  12. sulio, i don't think i will be making the nationals. money is a big issue for me atm as i've just purchased my first home. there's always another one though gav, no i haven't heard or read anything about it but it doesn't sound too good. can you point me in the right direction in regards to the current owner? i'd love to have a chat. as for my z, she's fine. nothing much new since the engine and tranny swap. as i said above, money is an issue but all in good time. there's so much more i want to do but at least i know the big work is over and behind me for now. cheers
  13. thanks thought that might have something to do with it. it's an endearing term though
  14. wow, 40+ views and not a single welcome. so much for hospitality
  15. thought i'd finally join and say gday. it's good to see a budding Z community down in vic. it's a bit disjointed up here and it's mostly older purists. on the one hand i wish there were more Z's to cruise with but on the other i like how rare they are. can't have both i guess. umm, if anyone knows where HS30100243 is please pm me. i'd love to see how she's doing. i'm pretty sure the owner is from melbourne.
