  1. I'm not impressed with that oil pressure Dave... What grade of oil are you useing?
  2. Just remember people, keep the key in the Ignition so you don't have the steering lock come on...
  3. TaDa! http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/topic,2922.0.html
  4. Here is your problem. Have a good read of the Haynes Manual, Sach about the Dizzy install. Getting the half moons of the cam drive in the correct spot is critical, because it sounds like you're 180deg out. No 1. plug lead on the dizzy cap 'should' be facing the radiator, as should the rotor botton at TDC.
  5. And use the 1mm thick cutoff wheels...
  6. ROFL!!!
  7. Here's a photo of my very rare 2460Z...
  8. All very interesting, thanks Mike Fu, you might BE able to fit the S2 280ZX calipers up to your Maxima brackets after all
  9. I just got Wood!
  10. Word^. I'd love a 250cc gearbox International, but I don't think my back could put up with the pounding...

Riiiiiiiiight... The L28 is faily robust so I'd just rebuild it with some cast flatop pistons (if you dont already have them) & get the whole lot balanced. Get the statc CR up between 9.1:1 & 10.1:1 so it's still good on PULP. Get the head ported by someone that knows what they are doing & keep the std valve sizes. Get a mild road cam with upgraded (stiffer) valve springs & last pads to suit. A decent set of headders/extractors is a must. Ditch the factory inlet manifold & get a weber manifold and fit multiple throttle bodies. Also ditch the factory ECU & get a Wolf/Hawk/Haltech. Should yeald you with seamless drivabilty & enough grunt to get you into trouble
  12. MRP, I think you need to do some research about what CLASS of racing you want to get into & work out a budget. I'd also suggest you join your local Nissan/Datsun/Zed club as the members in these clubs are an invaluable sorce of information on getting into motorsport. If your serious, your about to enter a VERY slippery slope that will always leave you poor... HTH.

    What's your budget?
  14. Mike, wasn't aware of any differences between the S1 & S2 setups. I used the S1 rotors with Robs Alum. brackets & it all bolted up fine.
  15. Bit of a lession to be learned for everyone else, eh Fu? I doubt you'll find the 280ZX calipers will fit the Maxima brackets, but you never know... The brackets I had made up wern't cheap, but Sulio found these Ex US: http://store.zraceproducts.com/brakes.php HTH
  16. Your better off useing the S2 280ZX calipers as apprently rebuild kits for the S1 calipers are NLA.
  17. I'm taking orders now. Peak torque output is fairly high up in the rev range - I doubt it would be very quick off the line, but if someone wants to prove me wrong...
  18. And you will also get beatern by someone with a well built L28 off the line! WOW!
  19. 1 Yes they will. The kings springs lower your car around 30mm. This will be quite suitable for your intended application & will firmin your ride slightly. The Koni Reds are the single acting, one way adjustable damper & are excellent in road cars. Cheap bastards option: if you have the original factory oil inserts, you can drain the oil out & replace it with heavier fork oil or ATF – works VERY well! 2 I lowered my bus with the lowered Kings springs – I am not sure what the rate is but the coil wire was 0.5 thicker than standard. Perhaps speak to a Kings tech to clarify the rate. I highly doubt the ride quality will degrade much. 3 I only bottom out when I inadvertently drive through pot holes. You'd have to lower your Zed a loooooooong way for it to bottom out over normal tarmac surfaces. 4 In a road car? I doubt it. Koni (IMHO) is the superior brand but it all comes down to personal preference & depth of wallet. 5 Adjustable swaybars in a road car isn't necessary, they are only usefull for tuning your suspension for track use. Non-adjustable bars, as long as they are uprated ones, will provide much more control over body roll than std ones without an increase in ride harshness. Did that help Stevo?
  20. Steve, your posting a heck of a lot of information & asking even broader questions. Perhaps condence your questions down to make them simpler for us to answer - maybe point form?
  21. Here's a photo of my other Zed.
  22. I thought it was an expression of Penii
