    Spot the difference

Ha Dimitri is right The top is a l28 and bottom is rb25 I acctually put the l28 crank into the rb block (just for somthing to do) and it fitted! and gave me much bigger stroke Not much has changes since the l series was built hey. Anyway not sure if it has any real use but just though it was interesting. Ash

Yer lurch you actually owned one of them Ash
  3. Just for some fun (might be easy?) id these cranks
  4. Yer its the temp sender for my water temp guage Also made it easlier to get the rad pipe to fit well. Ash
  5. and a few more
  6. few more pics
  7. More pics Getting alot of calls now its on MY105
  8. If you put the money in his bank account ben will have em to you the next day cannot get much quicker than that Im sure if you ask him he can also reccomend which will fit perfect for your car you wont find a wheel in the size you want anyquicker as +10 +20 wheels in 17s (or 16s) are not common Ash
  9. Yer im with you lurch. Stroker = pointless as my non stroker smokes strokers Yer fu just bore it out as it doesnt cost much and will give it a bit more punch does anyone know what the max std piston overbore is (max off the shelf piston size) Also on another note has anyone thought of doing a slight offset grind in the crank to get a bit more stroke?? Or is it another pointless money spending thing :0 Ash
  10. Im doing a satin black bonnet with satin black flares and rear bre spoiler. Just going with acrilic and painting it myself in the bcakyard Ash
  11. Im am prety sure the 918 orange is the same colour they used on the 432 (but if NZ could confirm would be great) I am just about to paint my car back to that colour aswell. I have thought about the RB weber option aswell got a rb30/25 combo that is I dont put in my racecar I could go the NA option with? Ash
  12. HI Fu rebore and pistons shouldn't cost to much ($200 for flatops and $150 for rebore) They are a tough old motor and I would go up a size on the piston and rebore even if it wasnt warped Yer the std oil pump is fine. I got a 74 deg in my race motor and it is very lumpy. not really a daily driver type cam Ash
  13. Yer I was trying to get my old car through into gorup T aswell but got the same SC only response?? Ash
  14. I have just found from experiance that most oil warning light (in road cars) only operate at very low pressure and usually its too late. But most experiance I have is with pre 85 cars and they may have not been as advanced as new models. Just in the racing world usually if the light comes on in an event you are pulling over 6k and it usually lets go before it revs down. However it still may save you from doing more damage by keeping your foot on the gas I always run a good seperate mechanical oil guage (the one were the oil runs all the way up to the guage) on my racecars as they are much quicker to react than std oil pressure guage thats in the zed. I check it once or twice a lap usually just before my brake point at the end of a straight. I remember the first time I started my racecar with it and couldnt believe the amount of pressure change at low revs to high. Ash
  15. do you mean a f@#ked light stef I never run one because by the time the lights on its too late Ash
  16. I had a look on the MSCA site but you have to email to get there safty regs. I noticed they are not running through CAMS now is that correct? Still think you should do it properly (3ltr) but if you want to spend $60 on somthing that doesnt make your car any faster and potentialy is not per the rules then go for it I just know you need one picky guy and you might not be able to run. Ash
  17. Yer as Lurch says you need a 3ltr min cap for a zed to be legal for a CAMS event Most of the ones you buy from autobarn (autotechnica) etc are way to small and are expensive aswell. The best and cheapest solution is to get a 4/5ltr thinners tin (empty of course) and drill a couple of breather holes in the top and run your block and rocker breather into it aswell. Sure its not a pretty as the polished ones but costs about 10-20 bucks and dose a better job Ash
  18. The gun Maquesports car is a lambo or a dodge viper. even the austin martin runs somtimes. ITs more like FIA GT now. Yer I would love if they did a sportscar class with NC style rules. I definatly know of at least ten cars that are already built to run a class like that. Ash
  19. Also sports sedan Although you may be refering to if its a calss winning car. If so not at that price:) But with an good budget and driver I could make it a winning car There is not many class in the world that 20k will get you a race wining car (maybe formula vee and HQ) Ash
  20. Yer it was only ever run at state level from what i heard. Could you scan the full articale in and post as I would love to read it. The problem with Historics is most of these cars were log booked in the early 90s and historic I think only streches to the early 80s Be good if they made a hisotic class like the sc were you can build a car to the class instead of having a logbook from back then!! My car could have been better (second had slicks, old shocks, home build engine, std 240 gear ratios) but I rekon with a better driver(or more practice) and new tyres it could have got down to the 45s Ash
  21. My L28 triple weber racecar did a 1:47 around the Island But yes its owned by Tom Cantwell now and has a gnose fitted. I think he has it in storage somewere as you need to do 1:39's to be competative in Marquesports nowdays It inspired me to by my first race zed when I saw it racing in the late 90's. Its a great car! Ash
  22. Yer good point what are the good 260z carbs??? Ash
  23. Hi No one has that kit in Aus. You can get it only from Japan. I lookked into getting it a few years back but its pretty expensive on the shipping and you would get much change from 5K You can get smaller zg flairs and rear spoiler and you can get the gnose without the front spoiler aswell. Ash
  24. Lurch I wish you would post pics of that part of the door as I know I should be pulling mine apart aswell Ash
  25. Yer sounds interesting scando. If its easy to get could you post up the rules/regs and calendar for 2009. Thanks Ash
