  1. thanks for the info, from reading some of that stuff to get the licence your car has to have hood pins?? and the fire extinguisher has to b securly fastened, which mine isn't, amoungst other things so i might put my concintration elsewhere for a bit, but join up to NCCA if its the way to go
  2. the ford four car club? i assume datto's are welcome as their main pic is a 1600 lol i've been looking around their site but can't find anything refering to the event you're talking about, but i dont have microsoft office atm which makes it harder to look at half the files! do you need to hold a cams licence or anything? would it be availible on the day? on the membership form it says you must help in the running of atleast 2 events a year, but looking on their calender for the year i wouldnt be 100% i could make 2 events...i guess i could. i assume u can still join in on the events you're helping with?
  3. the guy didn't say a date, just that they were starting to make them on the 15th...so a while still now. i've been recommended a guy to use to cut the rear fenders, in terms of quality and price. Then and i went to cost less bolts in ringwood this morning and bought the list of stuff that 240zhoke in the US used, but in metric sizes as thats all they had one of the bits in. however with how high the rear of my car sits i'm wondering if it would ever get close to hitting, i think i'll need to experiment with putting something in the fender for my current wheels to hit or something. might go talk to the guy about how much it would be to get them cut etc, then just use the method u've used for now and c if it rubs heaps or not without cutting. i've been meaning to call the wheel place regarding lock nuts, so mayb thats something else we could get in somehow...but everyone having the same sort, or advertising what brand your using kind of defeats some of the purpose lol
  4. y didn't i get to do motorkhana's from the age of 12 as i'm no longer working on the weekends i'd really like to get into doing something with my car, so it would be great if you could post the details next time there's one on heathbruce i was thinking the guy must of been turning perfectly to keep the enertia going of the car, then putting it into reverse, but having a special gearbox makes alot more sense lol are hydrolic handbrakes expensive to set up?
  5. i'd never heard of, and therefore seen this before, but it looks like crazy amounts of fun http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RHgjFPhhzY8&mode=related&search= i'd like to do some motokhana's in the zed, well basically just thrash around in an open space lol
  6. sulio has the hook up on ROH wheels

i hate and love this colour at the same time. this photo makes me not want my car to be a similar colour!
  8. i'd be interested in some fibreglass bumpers as i'm thinking about going for black bumpers and never want to paint my chrome ones lol
  9. i should be able to make it just tell me when and where
  10. semi joking, but still not good! i guess a fair bit of money went into having dinner out so often etc but i'll lump that into the keeping her happy category lol, even if i enjoyed it does your scholarship pay for books also? i dont actully have any uni expenses to deal with as hex and parents have been nice enough to take care of it for me. i wish i'd done specialist maths as not only did i basically do it the year after at uni anyway but then i could of gotten a scholarship...ohwell
  11. i borrowed some of the money from my parents to purchase my car, and was waiting for my tax to come back, and if i hadn't spent anything by the time i got my tax back i would have had enough to pay them back. somehow that plan didn't work out, and i hadn't really spent up on the car at all in the first year. i guess $60 in petrol a week is quite a shock when your previous expense was only a monthly phone bill. things are getting there slowly now (shocks and bushes, with rims on the way), i'm working full time this year so hopefully i can save up a bit (for brakes and engine stuff) instead of wasting it all (on none car related things) lol, but i'll need to buy a semi decent laptop for 2008 so i'm not looking foward to that waste of money. i'll see how things go. and the only way i found to keep gf happy is to waste more money on her than on the car...prob y that didn't work out lol
  12. nup, none of my mates have an r32 sure looks interesting, i now know what i'd like to do at some stage (currently i can;t blow cold air on the windscreen, isn't really an issue, but for some reason i wanted to the other day lol) did this come with ur halfcut or they generally dont give you the dash, and hence these bits?
  13. have u got a pic of the screen bit? or am i just blind?
  14. hmmmm mine are keeping the bevel around the outside of the 260z lights, and then i'm going to try to adapt the middle to the shape of the skyline lights, not that you can really see it with the balsa wood there
  15. some of the rust paint losses its gloss pretty fast some ppl have found. the brightside yacht paint isn't that much more for alot of gloss thanks for the info zeddophile, but yeah i was using it as a paint stripper, and testing how easily it removed the rust paint
  16. hehe, just thought since you wrote bonnet... easiest pic for me to find of a car with them, however u can't see them to well as they are painted body colour
  17. wow my car sure has been lowered since, but not enough lol just thought i'd post a link to this yacht paint stuff, if you follow the links though to their paint series called "perfection" there are videos on how to apply it, if u want to see how easy it is and how good the results are just watch the last one. its two part and looks very shinny and they reakon it lasts ages in salt water! pity it doesn't come in many colours besides really dark or really light ones, and its nearly $100 for under a litre of it  i'm concidering buying some of their brightside line and painting my spare doors with it to see how it goes etc, tossing up between largo blue, yellow or orange...
  18. if you re-read what i wrote i said hatch vents i'm pretty sure rpmz car has them, along with some others. my bro said he started talking to an owner of a silver <#500 "1969" 240z who was pointing out the differences to him, of which the vents are. later 260z's came with vented bonnets, this is what also has me confused with which ones use the 280z shell
  19. so you dont think if u did cut them off you woudl be able to reweld them on and make it look normal again? sure i know that the underneath would b different but you woudlnt' b able to see it. my thought is if anything could go for some moulded in sutle flares if i wanted to go for a stock look ever again. reading somewhere i read that the factory cars had their guards cut, and there is some fold in the inner fender? and it just continues straight instead of folding down or something? i might be in the later stages of the hybridz thread
  20. looks like you have a nice amount of dish on those mesh rims! so does this have hatch vents? or is that only the first 500 australian cars? stupid americans getting me confused lol
  21. yep will look hot, get a fair few looks and points in the zed in the city and peak hour, i imagine it will b even more so with some fat rims on it  talking to some of the guys i work with a few of them have done engine conversions and all play with welding bits and pieces together (one has an ra28 celica with door poppers), so i should see what welders we have there if any and if any of them would be happy giving it a shot, i'll show them that link , as we have a drive in workshop i'm only having a few days off over christmas, so i dont think i'll be able to ask any shops around my place with one of the fender rollers do you think you could bend the flares up enough to sit just under the flares? i'm guessing it would break the weld so need to be re-welded anyway, but atleast that way u could bend it back if u ever really wanted? or i guess u could cut the peice off as nicely as possible and just weld it back on if ever needed?
  22. since you dont seem particually keen on one type of zed over another, i guess it comes down to how many seats you're after personally if u was going to spend that much on a datsun right now, i'd be buying this http://cgi.ebay.com.au/1973-NISSAN-SKYLINE-GTR-GT-R-C110-KPGC110-DATSUN-240K_W0QQitemZ160061870082QQihZ006QQcategoryZ45571QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem although i guess the back shape kind of looks like a 260z 2+2 so you may not like it, however atleast the rest of the car flows with it
  23. the car does look pretty nice though, however those front flares definately need to b moulded into the front spoiler, and i agree with you with the bolt on flares look, but each to their own. the two tone silver looks nice although to american
  24. more pics
  25. thought i should post pics of how they are held together, its really very easy, and i had them apart the other day to adjust the colour seperation at the cutoff, still could look nicer, i'd love to change to come accord euro projectors...
