I'm currently rebuilding my rear end with new nolathane. The inner part of the rear control arm appears to need a metal bush which slides over before the nolathane bush goes on. Is this correct? I just don't understand why there's metal on metal contact if so... Cheers

From memory there's a place out Vermont way who actually make the SWR headers. Maybe it's Performance Exhaust. I used to know which place it was, but the exhaust fumes from the z have killed a few brain cells..

I know its a luck thing, I'd like to know how to test each block.

Hi Jason Perhaps I should've been clearer (or I misunderstood your reply). I'm trying to find a block I can bore to 90mm, but I know I need to ascertain cylinder wall thickness when I'm looking at potential blocks. I was wondering how I figure out which block to use.

Assuming I can get my hands on a sonic tester, does anyone know how to measure an L28 block so I can determine maximum possible bore? Looking to try to get to 89 or 90mm if I can.

I've got a NOS boss kit with the Datsun badge etc etc. I'll have a look when I get home mate..

Hi guys A strange request, but if you're in Melbourne, I was wondering if you could take me for a drive in your car. I'm looking at a whole load of options at the moment for engine rebuilds and I'l like to get a "seat of the pants" sense of what=what. I figure there's no point me throwing a whole heap of dough at the law of diminishing returns if a particular option is "enough". Whilst I know that more = more, it would really give me a sense of where I can go with this, how much it'll cost and what suits my needs. I'm not looking to drive your car, just to sit whilst you drive. I also note that there are a few Melbourne peeps doing a rebuild, so if there is interest in a centralised point where many people could meet, we could organise that as well. Particularly interested to hear from the PMC people! Maybe even Peter would wish to attend to talk through alternatives, but now I'm just musing on ideas.. Cheers Gareth

Come over to my place and have a look at my OER's. They're new and they use weber internal parts so supply is easy. Gareth
