  1. 260z/280z ones have a flat bezel to suit that dash 240z ones are angular. However in the photo at the start of this thread they are all 240z clocks. Just that the angle of the photo makes 1 look more flat than the others.
  2. https://jalopnik.com/nissan-is-making-parts-again-for-the-r34-skyline-you-to-1830772184 Let's hope Nissan decides to do S30z parts soon!
  3. I've heard the non NEO engine RB25's are indeed slow. Then again would it be slower than a Suzuki Jimny? I lost a drag race to a friends 1999 Mitsubishi Mirage. *just*. Yeah the age of them is a slight concern, along with higher mileage examples. I'm aware they are more R33 than 34, but thanks and yeah the chassis code can be confusing in that regard. Auto's are pretty uninspiring to me in any car, although the missus tends to like them. I'm trying to beat that out of her (metaphorically of course ;)) They are probably cheaper really, apart from the 260RS which commands a Premium. The RB26 is what appeals to me. The Motive series on building up an RB26 is partly what has inspired me. Although I have no intentions of having it at 500+HP. Yeah I've seen quite a few with the front driveshafts *disabled*.
  4. https://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/shorncliffe/cars-vans-utes/260z-datsun/1202509169 $10,000 Negotiable Shorncliffe QLD 4017, Australia I'm just messing of course, got a soft spot for white 2+2's.
  5. Watanabe's - 4x114 Watanabe Wheels with Tyres 14x6.5 0 Offset $1,300 https://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/kellyville-ridge/wheels-tyres-rims/4x114-watanabe-wheels-with-tyres-14x6-5-0-offset/1202084720 Looks similar to the ones on this TAKEEY's Z432, although maybe not as wide?
  6. There is just a number of sites to keep an eye on for S30Z's. Goo Net is great, just search by chassis eg: S30, PS30, HS30 etc.. As for Rally Clock's, from memory you have a 260z right? You'll probably want a Calendar Clock instead.
  7. The car Mr Lee's tried to pass off a while ago as being in his possession. http://www.goo-net-exchange.com/usedcars/NISSAN/FAIRLADY_Z/700060083430181009003/index.html
  8. Takeeys has a Z423-R tribute car for sale. Looks more 905 red than 918 orange to me? http://www.goo-net-exchange.com/usedcars/NISSAN/FAIRLADY_Z/700060083430181010001/index.html
  9. Hey Folks, Anyone here a Stagea owner? Now or previously? I've been weighing up a Stagea as a daily driver for a few months now. Not sure how reliable they are as a daily car and running costs etc..? I've be looking at a 260rs (preference) with the RB26 (GTR wagon basically) or a series 2 RB25 NEO (manual RS4S) I think. The later ones probably represent good value, but I like inline 6's and RB's. It would replace the Suzuki Jimny, which is good on fuel, but useless on freeway drives Sydney->Melbourne which I seem to have been doing a lot in the last few years. I've wanted a Stagea since the early 2000s when I first saw them at a import dealer yard and then later spoke to the dealer when he saw my 240z at a Petrol station and then proceeded to show off and blow by me as I was leaving the station.
  10. So has anyone been to inspect this car? Seems like a reasonable price for an early car, it certainly looks rough at first glance, but could actually be a good purchase if straight and minimal rust. Front end looks a little bent though and I'm not sure how rusty it is? Seems odd it hasn't sold yet, given it's early with matching no's engine etc..?
  11. Interesting, I think the Just SU's video supplied by Z-therapy shows light sanding to allow pistons to fall into bores evenly! I'll have to review it again, so far I've only scrubbed the piston with brake clean and a scotchbrite pad. I did notice that 1 piston seemed to fit and slide up / down better with 1 dome than the other. It's just as I say, 1 piston seems to get stuck half way down every so often (not every time). I will have a play with it during final assembly.
  12. Worth more than that in parts! Can't last long.
  13. Yes it does give some comfort, I may need to get loctite for the manifold studs anyway, so will use it sparingly. I was thinking that also, but I may try clean up those last chance filters and shove them in, for that extra piece of mind. I have kept the older washers, so may just re-use them since they are the right size. Clean them up a bit etc.. I had Z-therapy rebuild 3 sets earlier in the year for me and I've still got 2 pairs. I can see they used them there, so will likely use them for that or try the washers depending on how tight it gets. Thanks for that, I see that Z-therpay have N27 needles listed also. So I can always ask them also. Shame I mangled mine getting them out! Should have been more patient. I may have a few more questions about centering the needle with the nozzles (and the holder for the nozzle), along with setting floats etc.. I cleaned up and installed the pistons last night with springs etc.. the pistons didn't get vapour blasted. I may need to use some light sandpaper to smooth out the domes a bit, I noticed both pistons move freely, but every so often 1 side gets a little stuck. So far the hardest part of their disassembly and rebuild is getting the right size washers in the right locations!
  14. https://www.carsales.com.au/cars/details/Datsun-260Z-1976/SSE-AD-5795052/ Auto 260z 2+2 for sale, $6,000
  15. Bookmarking for my own good. http://www.sumidel.com/ Some rebuild kits come with the "crush washers" But the Z-therapy 1 didn't. https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Datsun-240Z-1970-73-Round-Top-Carb-Rebuild-Kit-Hitachi-SU-Carburetor-NEW-1077/223221946315 It cost enough that it should have IMHO.
  16. So I'm near the end of my Hitachi SU carb rebuild. However I have a few outstanding questions: 1. N27 needles, are they still available? If so where? I butchered mine removing them. I have some SM needles, but they will be too big for the L24. https://photos.app.goo.gl/TQmyxStyXKBJBqMz8 2. Butterfly plate fasteners. I damaged a couple removing them. Not sure if it's easy to order these or I need to speak to a machine shop etc..? 3. Loctite on threads? Anyone used it for say the fuel bowl bolt or fuel float breather etc..? I saw a white-ish residue on the threads when I removed them. https://photos.app.goo.gl/sTGeN9f9Uu7zdvdz6 https://photos.app.goo.gl/NJU2BJZ5qxH8vNjU9 If anything I think the intake manifold threads need some kind of loctite to stop the bolt rotating when undoing/doing up the nuts to fasten the carb bodies to the intake. I know loctite comes in colours depending on how firm you want the lock. Just seeking recommendations. https://photos.app.goo.gl/L8GNm5viQGhcKF7w6 4. Crush washers? And Fuel Filters I'm thinking Repco might have an assorted set you can buy? https://photos.app.goo.gl/4SN3AkpseCfPLSgT9 Fuel filters that go on the fuel bowl inlet banjo bolt as a last resort filter. https://photos.app.goo.gl/tjyNCLq8Ny9NqFNXA (middle of photo). Does anyone know if this type of filter is readily available? I've kept the old ones incase someone tells me you have to clean the old ones and reuse...(I've re-used the floats already). 5. The Z-therapy rebuild kit comes with a plastic like o-ring (seen here). https://photos.app.goo.gl/uKN5kyAR1dSYhhmL8 Still not sure what they are meant to be used for? Ideas? *Edit these might be Banjo bolt seals (for fuel inlet), not sure I like these over OEM crush washers. http://www.ztherapy.com/ I think the biggest cost in this Z-therapy rebuild kit is the ZT reconditioned Nozzles and Needles.
  17. HS30 00297 for sale. Asking $25,000 Ballina Area, NSW Seller: @curtis 240z on behalf of a friend. https://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/ballina/cars-vans-utes/1970-series-1-240z-297/1201727918
  18. CHECKMAN period correct looking aftermarket gauges. https://page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/w275925323
  19. I have to agree, the red detailing wasn't to my liking. However I also think the style of wheel is important. I just love the contrast of Safari gold and black wheels. I find this look hard to beat. Of course Topy's are probably not an option with the M3 engine, but I do like the just rolled off the show room look. Another Watanabe car/Safari Gold combo. @HS30-H Alan's Z432-R Replica with Kobe Seiko (Wide) mags. We should all be so lucky! It really does look fantastic. I think the Z432-R's should have been this colour instead of 918 personally.
  20. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1972-datsun-s30-fairlady-z-right-hand-drive-japan-only/ I've seen this car in person. If anyone wants an honest assessment. It will need work. Body is quite rough in usual spots. Probably should have bought it 2+ years ago as a non runner..

  23. 73 HLS30 painted in Safari Gold. https://buyee.jp/item/yahoo/auction/g282381072 4,500,000 yen (AU$57,600.00) buy it now.
  24. Dry mock up of the SU's on manifold... I'll come back to this to add description shortly.. (Z-therapy carbs in the background for reference). I prefer the cad plating on mine! However their bodies are better polished (tumbler I think) and I might polish the domes on mine to spruce them up further. I have a few washers left over, I think I may have put some washers in the wrong place as the ones left over don't fit the throttle shaft and that's the only ones missing!!
