  1. Hey Sulio if your patient you might be able to source one from NZ. Shipping from the states will be $300US + . It's probably best to buy one without the rods anyway since we have better access to rods and stuff here in Australia and you need to work out what rod/combo you want with what pistons you'll use etc.. Good luck all the same anything cheaper than the $800 odd I paid is surely a good price.
  2. It's been quiet on the forums lately is it because all the updates I keep raving about haven't been happening? I know I know I've been a little slack well actually I haven't I've been looking for a new job. Had an interview today and 2 on Thursday so I'm hoping to get one and start earning some money again so I can start doing stuff on the Z. I'm waiting on some bits to arrive from the US to install my new suspension can't wait for that. Hopefully I can continue with the engine build after that I've been told the engine head has been ported and will flow 700HP not likely I'll be producing that without some snails on the side but hey it sounds cool doesn't it? I've been playing with a design idea for the site not sure if it will be everyones taste but check out the website development section for a preview. Other than all that crap about me what's been going on with you guys? Did someone cut your fingers off and now your all unable to type? Just kidding around.
  3. OK this is a wild stab in the dark since I don't know a whole lot about the S130's (I know shame on me). Could it be that the U.S safety laws meant that the bumpers on HLS130 cars were different since they had that silly 5 mph test they had to comply with? Even more of a stab in the dark was the 280zx coupe(2 seater) any different in terms of dimensions?
  4. Hey Mr C, I don't know about any blue line I'll have to take a look. Too right on the KPH conversion I think I tried it some time ago when my Photoshop skills were very n00b and it looked awful might give it another shot at some point.
  5. Lurch is you want any help in planning I'm sure Sulio or I would be willing to help.
  6. Yeah it's still a little while away so it should give everyone some time to sort a few things out on their cars. I myself have to install my new shockers and replace some bushes in the car.
  7. I believe I got my ball joints through Warren at Zworx cant for the life of me remember what the cost was though. I don't think they were too extreme I think the tie rods were the killer at $100 ea or something like that. I've found that searching on the internet is a good way to save money but then you have to wait. For example I was after a set of strut boots with the integrated bump stop to protect my tokico's. Pedders wanted $50 each or $200 for the whole set. I found a place on the net www.rockauto.com and was able to save $60 would have been more but $40 was for shipping alone. They haven't arrived yet but I'm hoping only a week. I just looked then you'll find that RockAuto link has ball joints and tie rods they also have wheels bearings look under 1972 : NISSAN : 240Z : 2.4L 2393cc L6 [L24] : Brake/Wheel Hub : Wheel Bearing & 1972 : NISSAN : 240Z : 2.4L 2393cc L6 [L24] : Suspension : Ball Joint or you could always try Nissan Dealer
  8. http://www.putfile.com/media.php?n=street-race-2 quick 240z on twin SU's puts new cars to shame
  9. Cheers Warren i do recall seeing that. I wonder if he's sell the single book cheap.
  10. I forgot i had found it on Amazon might be cheaper there. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/1931128022/qid=1119849241/sr=8-1/ref=sr_8_xs_ap_i1_xgl14/102-5221670-3952901?v=glance&s=books&n=507846 I have a whole list of books I'd like to buy off Amazon LOL.
  11. Hey Nathan where can i get the book from? Can you either provide links or tell me where it is in Australia? I recently bought a licence globe assembly from a guy in the states it wasn't cracked or warped from the heat of the globes which is fairly rare I couldn't find one here either Warren said he didn't have any so I went on Ebay and found 1 . Point to the story was I pulled it apart and in soapy warm water washed it and all the carbon build up on the see through part came off nicely she's almost as good as new it does have a couple of scuff marks on it though. Got me thinking of how much nicer the tail lights would look without the carbon build up. So i think this book would be really good for cleaning up old parts and so forth.
  12. Sorry Lurch i read your cruise and it sounds great. Infact I was going to do a group email for the event closer to the actual date. However I might do it soon just so everyone has time to get organised i'd like to get as many Zeds going as possible. Hopefully ill have done some work on my car by then too. So yeah count me in I'm sure Costa would be interested too.
  13. I'm also looking for stuff for Zeds in the states all the small bits im missing like trim and stuff like that. I've noticed alot of people selling really well polished valve covers and have been thinking of getting one. It seems a far better alternative than trying to find this stuff in Australia.
  14. But since the old database and forum still exists I may be able to bring all the existing posts and information across still. I guess something to look into after exams speaking of which I have my last tomorrow better keep studying.
  15. This is a quick draft the colours are a bit wrong but its more to give a general idea.
  16. I like the concept Matt I recorded the site as being down 11:17 am EST Wednesday 15th of June 2005. Next time it's down i'll do the same if we reach 5 or more within a month i'll take action.
  17. Yes I agree Nigel another reason I was going to go for a Vector Image with basic colours. I'm sure we can come up with something that will be basic and effective at the same time. Infact this will be a good practice exercise for myself.
  18. I guess best thing to do would be to first work out what size we want this sticker to be. I don't think anyone wants one of those shiny reflecting ones that take up 3/4 of your rear window like the Mario's in their VL's seem to love   not that there's anything wrong with that . I was actually thinking of creating the sticker as a vector image. That way it will have very nice defined lines and we could also do it easily in a range of sizes for all kinds of purposes like shirts/coffee mugs/small and large stickers etc.. I think in terms of DPI a minimum for print would be 300DPI but your only gonna need 72DPI on the screen. I guess we should really work out a size we want the sticker to be first. I'm having a rough guess and saying 20 X 20 cm would be good but how do others feel? FORMULA FOR DETERMINING SIZE. 800 X 600 PIXEL IMAGE. 800/72 = 11.11 Inches 600/72 = 8.33 Inches This formula can be transposed so that you can find what you'll need for a certain size sticker however you must use inches pixels and dpi for the formula to work converting to cm's later. If you get what i mean. Anyway just have a shot at it anyway since we're not printing it yet i don't know how good you are at using vector based drawings but i thought something along the lines of that cool art you see for cars would be good. EG: those huge rims and exhaust pipes under a squashed S30 shape . However i also like the idea sulio had of using a 2 bit image of a Z.
  19. Hi MOM i'd love to attend but busy with Exams this week and next week so haven't had a chance to replace the dangerously sloppy suspension in my Z. Glad you posted the details all the same sounds like good fun. Omeo sounds like a good idea we'll try to get something organized soon I'm looking forward to a cruise in the Z soon.
  20. You know me too well Nathan they look very sexy indeed. I'd snap them up in a second if they were within Australia and get them a nice coat of HPC  . Wow my translation for these was 103,000.00 JPY Japan Yen = 1,238.93 AUD Australia Dollars I'm curious what the springs on it do?
  21. Huw try Ebay I always see goodies like this on ebay in the states. At time of posting this link was correct. http://motors.search.ebay.com/240z_Interior_W0QQcatrefZC3QQcatrefZC6QQcoactionZcompareQQcoentrypageZsearchQQcopagenumZ1QQfclZ3QQfposZQ5AIPQ2fPostalQQfromZR2QQfsooZ2QQfsopZ2QQftrtZ1QQftrvZ1QQsacatZ33694QQsadisZ200QQsaslcZ2QQsbrftogZ1QQsofocusZbs If what your after isn't there it will more than likely be there in the next few days.
  22. Well actually quick answer is no... however I do plan on getting on with that after exams. It would be nice to have a few others make an attempt even if your Photoshop(or any other program you use) skills arn't the best sometimes it's the general idea that counts and I can always make it more beautiful from there. Failing that I guess I'll put together 10 or so designs and everyone can vote on their favourites.

That's a cool photo thanks for sharing :-D
  24. Hi Sulio the front spoiler you have shown is not uncommon in japan. Infact many different front air damn types have been used on Z's in Japan since they were the only market to recieve the Gnose or 240zg. I think I've come to liken the spoiler seen on our latest members car Graedat in the photogallery you can see it on his blue 260z with the Simmons FR17's 18's? however I'm more partial to the old racer style like the BRE front spook. Which reminds me Len Brennan manufacturer's something of the sort on his website you can see it www.len-brennan.com.au i think it's also the only approved spoiler for competition.
  25. I think $6000 might be a little extreme it was a quick number off the top of my head. However the nose piece without the light covers is about $3500 AUD then you have the light covers god knows what they cost these days I would guess around $1000. The custom hinges you need I've seen on Ebay around $200 - $300. You've got the flares maybe $1500 then you still have to ship it here. However from the Gnose's I've seen in Australia I wouldn't bother with them you really need the 5 piece kit as it flows with the correct lines of the car the cheaper ones don't as they are only a 3 piece design and often inferior quality. Apparently the OEM Gnose was made with alot of care and thought and alot of these copies are just a quick mold taken from who knows what template. Just some things I thought I should mention.
