  1. Hi Crowe, I was under the impression from everything I read that the Z's were equipped with 3 core from 71 onwards. I would definately recommend going with a 3 core since it was common for Z's to have vapour lock, mind you I've never had that problem and 2 of my Z's had 3 core radiators. I don't believe the 260z radiators hang lower because of the radiator itself I think this is an issue with the actual mounting position since the support itself is different between 240z and 260z.
  2. Hi David, I personally don't plan to enter the concours to compete since I feel my Z is a long way from ready for a show and shine. I will be coming along later with my Z but as a spectator rather than an actual competitor. I should probably double check with Matty that we will be able to come along later in the day. I know that South Bank was an issue only because of council regulations however since it's now at Como House I don't see the problem. I'm wondering what kind of crowd it will attract though? Southbank was an ideal location to show off
  3. Hi Ben, I'm sorry to hear about that, it's typical though my neighbours all hate me and my Z they think I'm some kind of hoon(wonder what gave them that idea  ). I've been accussed of stealing license plates and everything even when I confront them they tell me they don't believe I'm innocent. What judge in their right mind would give you a $10,000 fine for working on your Z when your a mechanic honestly. What time do you work on the car is it at reasonable hours? You should probably go around and talk to them unless there as unreasonable as my neighbours. Unfortunately you are very close to your neighbours I'm wondering why they didn't speak to you first. They just decided to go out and get someone else to do their dirty work. I hate cowards
  4. Go with Twin Su's you can make 280HP out of an L28 with just Twin Su's. I have a spare set but I really don't want to part with them. Try US Ebay.
  5. Hey Sulio i think he is saying he bought a 240z with a hole but no sunroof in it. If that's the case I'd consider welding it up although it will be expensive to do it's certainly worth while. I think your best option for a sunroof would be to see a sunroof specialist. As you can see from the responses a sunroof isn't an addition most Z owners here would do and therefore couldn't really give much useful info on how to do it or the cost.
  6. Hey Nigel, This post is for Mike AKA NZeder I agree with what your saying and understand your concerns. I think he is after the actual brackets more than anything else. I myself I'm going to probably install racing harness's at some stage to go with my recaro's
  7. I don't believe I've met Daniel yet, I hear he's quite good and Costa tells me he's very good also. So I guess I can recommend him from word of mouth .
  8. Originally sent via email due to site being down. Guys, Just want to know if one of you can point me in the right direction (or help me locate what I am looking for). By the way I would have posted in this question on viczcars.com but I can't connect anymore? Anyway. Attached is a pic from a 260z hatch area (car is currently on ebay.com.au). My 260z needs new seatbelts and I am going to use Lap Sash Retractable (Inertia Reel) type. But I need to level the strut towers. I have seen a number of Zed (260z 2 seater like mine) have these brakets (see pic not the best but you should get the idea). Most of these seem to be Australian modeled cars so any ideas on where I can get a set? Or could you help me locate some? Or a partnumber (I don't have a parts book) that I could check with Nissan locally to see if they can get them (don't like my chances). So I think a wrecker is my best bet. Any help would be greatly appreicated. Regards Mike
  9. It's possible you didn't miss anything and it's an admin only function. Send me the URL of the image and I'll delete it.
  10. Front page should now log you on and redirect you straight to the forums. Hi Huw thanks for the kind compliments, yes it did take a while to build the new look. It's taken a long time to convert it from a photoshop concept to an actual HTML , CSS , PHP page and there is still a long way to go. You won't hear me complain about competition for top place as poster but I think I have an advantage being the forum admin and all  . BTW I can cheat and change the number of posts that users have myself included , that's not cricket I hear you say ?
  11. If you can't work out how send me a link to the picture you want to remove and I'll sort it out. It's hard for me to say because my view is the admin view only and so I have all the options right in front of me. Maybe one of our other members can help you better than I.

    PARTS CLEANING

I found the fun part removing the spindle pins. Which reminds me I saw a brand new set of spindle pins on ebay :-P
  13. Hey Nathan, I personally love the original mirror http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Datsun-240Z-Side-View-Mirror-NEW_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ46093QQitemZ4584878972QQrdZ1 There is one on ebay brand new

wow look at those flares  :-D
  15. The front page log on works but the redirect does not so you will receive a 404 page not found don't dispare I'll have this fixed asap. Sorry about the inconvenience but it's hard to fix everything at once. Last night I made some changes to the style sheet to make the front page look a bit nicer. Soon I'll start work on a latest picture uploads on the front page.
  16. Hi Matt, Not sure I can help, but I'd really like to know myself. I've seen new bolts on ebay for various parts of the 240z but I'd like a kit for the whole car. Costa once told me he can get an entire kit for a 240z with every nut and bolt for something around $50 I'd imagine someone would have a record of what bolt sizes and strengths somewhere. It might be worth calling somewhere like Zshop and Zworx and asking them if they know where you can get such a kit? I think this is a good topic to keep open I know that when I stripped my 73 the wing bolts your referring to either broke or rounded.
  17. Try here: http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=11772&highlight=R160+Diff http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1573&highlight=R160+Diff http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5224&highlight=R160+Diff It seems it's possible but you need to change your flanges(stub axels) to suit.
  18. Hi guys I'm happy you like it, I have been working on it on and off after work but I still need to fix a few bugs in it. Sulio and I were both impatient to get it up and running. Gradually I'll fix it so it's more "perfect" and the forums will follow the same style along with the photogallery just gonna take time. Cheers Gavin.
  19. Hey Sulio, yeah this is a good idea we have been planning to do this for a while. I was thinking of writing a php module on articles themselves however we can do this for a while. I'll create a new section
  20. Just thought I'd give a follow up on Costa. Costa is currently overloaded with work and is not taking on anymore until he can clear up some of the projects he has to finish. I'll be sure to let everyone know when he wants some extra work but I have a feeling he won't be available again for more work until the end of the year or start of next year. In terms of aircon systems there have been a few discussions at www.classiczcars.com it seems the original units were not that flash and it may be worthwhile buying a new system as Zeddophile was saying. Recaro baby seat hey! Your little fella will be spoilt .
  21. I say it depends on the car, if your going with an original exterior look then 1 mirror is cool. My old 240z only had the drivers side mirror the standard chrome one. I think it looks pretty good but my current 240z has had two mirrors installed and two holes drilled. As you probably know I bought 2 bullet mirrors, however Nigel Nr240 only has 1 bullet mirror on 1 side and it looks fine. Another mirror is always a good idea in terms of that added bit of safety although I always head check. If you want an original looking exterior stick with 1 but if you want more safety and are using some cool mirrors like the bullet type go with 2.
  22. I think that's fair considering that for $25 you can't even fill a fuel tank these days lol.
  23. Zshop is Zspares just a different location. I'd recommend Costa but I haven't been able to get a hold of him lately myself. I think it comes down to what kind of work you need done.
  24. I'd go with 2pack paint after having an Acrylic car. Sulio is right you will need to maintain it more often and it's subject to all sorts of bad things like Water Spots, Acid Rain, Bird Crap  you name it Acrylic doesn't hold up the same. I'm not saying 2pack paint will not be affected by these things but it will definately withstand more punishment. A few coats of clear over the top would definately give you a killer shine. Just MHO from someone who is sick of Acrylic.
  25. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4581312854&sspagename=ADME%3AB%3AWNA%3AMT%3A12 Can't believe I was outbid by $1 I woke up too late the auction had already ended Oh well these pop up every so often on ebay so i guess ill just keep trying.
