  1. Furrr baby! Now that would be pimpin . Yeah for now I think black is good. I'm trying to get this black vinyl off ebay. I know what your saying about this project taking ages and I think I should take a leaf out of your cap (you pimp you) and spend less time thinking more time doing I guess it's a habbit I've stuck with since being a Uni student means you have plenty of time but no money. Now at least I have the money just gotta be reasonable with it. I had a few other expenses this week but I'm really looking forward to fixing up the interior it's been crying for it for a while now. I can hopefully get that vinyl for less than a couple of hundred dollars. Carpet sounds good too. Oh btw next couple of days the new format should be ready to go. I just want to fix a couple of things and upload it then im going to gradually change the look of the site in the internal pages.
  2. Hi everyone. I'm looking to fix up my interior a bit, since I got my Recaro's I may as well tidy up the interior to suit my lovely uncracked dash  . I might be able to get the diamond vinyl interior at a reasonable price. The only dilemna I'm having is the colour. It's black which was what I originally wanted sometime ago but have since been considering white. I think a white interior in a red Z would look really good. I'm even considering reupholstering the Recaro's in white(leather maybe?) but probably not for a while. It may look a bit funny having the vinyl all white and the rear inner plastic parts at the back black and the roof door trims etc.. My old 240z had a white interior and red paint job and to be honest I kinda miss that.
  3. Too bad he's in Western Australia. I'd say it depends on how hard it was to get out. If it took you 3 hours to remove I'd say $50-$70. If you can't come across a 2+2 easily in WA then I'd say that's fair. On the other hand if you can get down to a wrecker and pull one yourself cheaper then maybe $50 is more like it.
  4. If your talking about Trufit on Warrigal Road don't bother. They are useless I've had them do work on two of my cars and they never get it right. There slack they are pathetic lol.... My 2 cents.

    Roll cages

Might be worth getting Len to make one for you. I've seen the Cage in his 260z Targa car and it's of excellent quality + it looks really cool . http://www.len-brennan.com.au/ Give him an email he might be able to build you one. At least that's who I was going to get to build mine if I still get a cage made.
  6. http://www.dashboardrestorations.com.au/ here Don't bother with other places, These guys are the best
  7. Nice car is that in the states? looks like it from the steering wheel position. I think he's on classiczcars.com as ON3GO. I think Watanabe's would look better but yeah , your obviously getting Psyched about flares Sulio  .
  8. http://www.datrats.com.au/ I have emailed them about some hard to get conrods I'll let you know how I go . They seem to be able to source some hard to find bits and pieces to suit Zeds
  9. Hi Ashley, Thanks for the offer I'll see what I can do about taking the measurements up and drawing up a diagram to follow. I want to get them right the first time and be happy with the position so I will take my time planning them. I might also consider designing them in such a way that I can create a tutorial for others to follow. I had intended to do that with the Tokico install as you can see from the gallery I was taking photos along the way but I realised I didn't have the time to finish it before Lurch's midnight cruise if I was going to do that.
  10. Hey Ashley, Yeah I understand where your coming from. I'm have a thing about safety  . Especially since I will also be installing the passenger seat and want my g/f to be safe . I'm thinking of taking a few measurements and drawing up a diagram of a bracket that will allow me to bolt into the original spot on the Z and on the seats. I have had some experience with welding before(I did a short tafe course when I was going to restore my old 240z). Hopefully I can get a hold of Costa so I can go around there and use his welder. They came with a set of rails that I might be able to modify rather than use the stock rails .
  11. Hi guys I bought a set of Recaro's just wondering for those of you who have had to install aftermarket seats before *cough* Ashley what you had to do to get them in? The Recaro's have the rails wider apart than Standard which means it looks like I'd have to drill new holes. Since I was it to pass engineering at vicroads I need it to be safe and done properly and I think it would be best to avoid that. So anyone? I've tried calling Ideal Seats in Moorabbin bit expensive though and not entirely confident with what they were saying.
  12. Hi I know it's an old topic but since I recently removed my struts to install Tokico's. I had to rebleed the entire system. The rear's had old fluid that had clagged up and it shot out when we bled the brakes and now they work really well. I did notice that even after all the air was out of the system the brakes felt a bit spongy. I think this is normal for the old brakes and you'll notice when you switch on the car with the vacuum assist they seem to get a little firmer. I took mine for a test run and it seemed to be fine. I also took it on the midnight run last weekend and I didn't go flying off a cliff due to bad brakes lol.

  23. Hey guys really sorry but I didn't even take 1 picture it was just too dark. Everywhere we stopped was way too dark to get a good quality shot and I anytime we were driving I was just concentrating on that. I enjoyed my new Tokico's they were probably a bit too firm for the roads we were on. I felt every bump and realised I needed better seats with more support . We had a good showing of Zeds probably 7-8 and the rest was Skylines, 510's, & bluebirds + a few others misc cars. I agree that the driver skill was exceptional and it certainly wasn't a casual drive through the mountains.
