fluegel Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 I am trying to respray the plastic surrounds for the rear lights. I was sold a product called Pro Form TPO adhesion promoter. I used it according to instructions which involves leaving it for 10 mins then applying the top coat(acrylic) I had problems with blooming of the clear coat because the weather got cold and damp. I tried to fix the white spots with a bit of thinner then a heat gun when the finish started to pull away I pulled the paint off and the primer underneath was sticky. I would like some advice on the best way to respray the thing as I still have enough of the metalic grey top coat, what would be the correct primer to use I dont think the stuff I used is the right one and is there anything else I should know. Linton Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 i just used a light spray of satin black enamel on mine nothing special, came up perfect no sign of lifting yet, dunno if it helps you though, good luck with it Quote
chris240 Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 Just start over.... Wipe down with prepsol, then a decent etch primer, then a gun metal enamel ...you can really get some excellent gloss from some of the aerosols these days. Dont complicate it. Quote
