Need a bit of help on this one. I bought a street wing from MSA and before I go drilling holes I Would like your opinion. The one who knows all [wife] doesn't like it and I am in two minds so your feed back will be greatly appreciated. I have some pics of with wing and without. My personal opinion is that its a tacky american style add on, i wouldn't put it on my car.

HOWEVER! Its your car, you should build it the way YOU want, not how others say, We all have different ideas on what looks good and what doesnt, same between you and your boss, er, i mean wife.

At the end of the day, you are the one that'll be looking at it, driving the car ect, do what makes YOU happy.

 

Tell her if she doesnt like it then she doesnt have to put it on her car, play it right and its an excuse to get another zed 'for her' 

 

Edit, for clarification, i have never liked big wings, unless its on a proper time attack car or Pikes Peak racer, so there is some bias there.

however, it does look nicer having something on the back instead of nothing.

I think the only rear wings that look any good on Z's

are the little bobtails

I don't mind it actually, it seems to suit the lines quite nicely. However I would try it in flat black to match the louvers first. I thought it was the hatch that was the only panel you were not happy with he paint? If so this could be a good excuse to fix the hatch paint if you decide not to keep it.

 

When I was deciding about bumper overiders, I set the camera on a tripod (well wheely bin) and took a photo with and without. Then you just continually flick back and forwards between the photos till you decide what you like.

Just outa curiousity are your rims 7" wide ? Perhaps, just perhaps if they are 7''s then some 8's would look a million dollars, its just looks like youve got a ton of room under those guards, either thats or its an optical illusion.

Its YOUR car, dont do something just because we say so, YOU need to be happy with it.

Suggestion from someone who cant even look at his own car

take the rear windscreen louvre off and see what it looks like.

Sit on the pics for a while, print them off and leave them next to your work station so you can 'review' them for a week or so, see how you feel after looking at it after a while.

It'll give you the answer you are seeking.

Actually they are only 15x6. Had a set of eights but would not clear front strut so rushed out and bought these. Easier to get tyres to fit and keep original rolling diameter.

There you go. Another + as I am just trying to make this car mine with a few things I most likely would have chucked on to make it different back in those days. I could also sell the Z and go buy a Harley but all the other old pricks do that. Get more looks driving a Z than riding a Harley. 8) 8)

Another + . Next plain is to cut the bottom outer bits to follow the lines and see if that looks better. Still waiting for pics of Aub's as that is where I got my inspiration from in buying this wing.
