Stinkbug Posted May 30, 2012 Posted May 30, 2012 Hey guys, im thinking about ordering some full length sill panels from the states. they are the full end to end types, not just a section with no ends. i figure these will be better to use in my case. they are only about 100 dollars a pop, but shipping is in the region of 100-170 dollars. has anyone used them (Z Specialties) before? i just cant seem to find these particular sills here in Australia so im thinking shipping them over is the only way. also the reproduction vinyl seat covers??? anyone used em and are they the goods? luvemfast Posted May 30, 2012 Posted May 30, 2012 For near on $500, why wouldn't you just go to a local sheetmetal place? Probably be better and cheaper :-\ Quote
Stinkbug Posted May 31, 2012 Author Posted May 31, 2012 being a rural town, things dont often end up cheaper. besides, i dont just want the profile of the sill, i want the ends aswell that go in behind the front guard and rear guard. thought it maybe better getting them from o/s at the same time as some other parts like seat upholstery and other interior bits. KatoKid Posted May 31, 2012 Posted May 31, 2012 Got mine from warren at All Z in Sydney. Typical Taiwanese pressings ...they didn't fit very well but with some coercing the came up well. Quote

Stinkbug Posted May 31, 2012 Author Posted May 31, 2012 id be keen on getting a set plus a couple of extra bits. if we can get a few sets but keep it under $1000 might work out ok. Quote
Jason89 Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 Im looking into ordering full length sills at the moment. Freight prices seem to be the killer, freigh was $320 and the sills are $70 each, you would only have to get a couple of sets to make it worth while. Let us know if your interested and i might see if i can organise a few sets. Quote
Stinkbug Posted June 15, 2012 Author Posted June 15, 2012 i jst got a quote for around 500 for 2 full length sills, 2 bottom front quarter patches, and 2 lower front rear quarter patches. it was around 130 bucks for shipping. he said they can bandsaw the sills in half to make em shorter for cheaper postage. nat0_240_chevZ Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 id be in on a few bits, dont worry about the 1000$ limit for extra tax, not worth worrying about if your saving an arm and a leg on postage anyways, id be in for a pair or 2 of rocker (sills) panels, rear 1/4 wheelarch replacement panels, pair also, I think I paid about an extra 200$ aud on an 1800$ aud purchase from europe, i think you could save more on combined/bulk postage, ie maybe use a standard size stillage (size of a pallet but about 800mm-1m high) nat0 Quote
