DreamZproject Posted May 1, 2012 Posted May 1, 2012 At the moment i am in the market for a lip for my new Z as i am soon to take it off to the paint shop and would like to save a little money by getting it all done at once. I really like the look of the AllZparts, but from the sounds of things they have shut down, and I dont know where else to get one from. The Large Fibreglass Front Air Dam looks ok, but i think it doesn't quite suit what i have in mind. Is there anywhere else that i can get the standard Z airdam? Thanks guys. Quote
Retro Z Posted May 1, 2012 Posted May 1, 2012 Topstage is making me one as we speak. Its the kameari style non vented version that everyone has. You might want to hold out abit as Topstage is also designing a custom airdam. Quote
FuzzyDropbear Posted May 1, 2012 Posted May 1, 2012 Last time I talked to allZparts (February) it took them a while to return my calls due to health reasons, but they did get back to me within a couple of weeks. I'm not sure if allZparts actually manufacture them, I think they just import them. Just nicked out to the shed and on the back of the one I have (which is the same that you want), it has Xenon 3124 stamped on the back of it. Just googled it and came up with this from their website: http://www.teamxenon.com/ Hopefully you can find one a bit more locally, but if not, you may have to import it or wait for the TopStage products. Cheers. <hr> Quote
DreamZproject Posted May 2, 2012 Author Posted May 2, 2012 Ahhhhhh so my research paid off! Just yesterday i dropped Xenon an email, asking who were their suppliers in Aus, They gave me a couple of names so i'll follow them up and let you guys know whats happening there. Thanks guys! Quote
DreamZproject Posted May 8, 2012 Author Posted May 8, 2012 Well, i contacted the two retailers xenon parts recommended... The one in America, for some reason would post to Australia most things, just not this airdam... The place in Australia COULD get it, but seeing as though they generaly only order jeep/ Chrysler bits, it would take near on 3 months to get here... I am really sold on this look of bumper, as most people are... is there anyone out there looking to sell their bumper!?!??!? Quote
d3c0y Posted May 8, 2012 Posted May 8, 2012 I'm going to be posting some of these Kameari style ones in the for sale section shortly if you are interested. Quote
Tj Posted May 8, 2012 Posted May 8, 2012 I'm going to be posting some of these Kameari style ones in the for sale section shortly if you are interested. I was on the hunt for something with brake ducts (for aesthetic reasons primarily) but that looks pretty good. Will be interested once there's a price posted up to consider. Quote
DreamZproject Posted May 9, 2012 Author Posted May 9, 2012 Yeah I'm with Tj, i love the look of those brake ducts... I just bear to not go with that look... Quote
DreamZproject Posted May 9, 2012 Author Posted May 9, 2012 I have just got a reply from a company in America i emailed about the xenon dam. They charge virtually nothing for the dam itself, but obviously a bomb for postage. Group purchase anyone!?!?! Shipping is $405. Total $582.46 USD. from BodyKits.net Quote
Whittie Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 I have just had a mold made of the airdam on my car, with brake ducts. The 'bad fit' is actually the bumper bar sagging as it was only held on with masking tape. I haven't had a copy made yet, so I don't know what they're going to cost, but we can sort out pricing if you're interested. The first person to buy one will be the 'test dummy' if you like for the fiberglass shop. I'll pay for the copy to be made and if it's good you get it at cost price, if it's bad then I'll keep it/heavily subsidise it. Shipping is something that obviously would need to be looked in to. DreamZproject Posted May 9, 2012 Author Posted May 9, 2012 Thanks for the offer whittie, i really like the look of your bumper, and I'm sure someone will take you up on that offer, but personally, i am really, really set on the classic xenon bumper with brake ducts... I don't know what it is... Cool looking bumper tho! Quote
d3c0y Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 If you arent in a rush i can probably get some over from Japan in a few months time? Quote
chris240 Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 Whittie, there not brake duct slots, theyre the black hole that the tardis vanishes into from Dr Who !! I like em Quote
DreamZproject Posted May 10, 2012 Author Posted May 10, 2012 Decoy, that would be cool (as long as they look identical to the regular xenon one with the brake ducts). What sort of price do you think I'd be looking at? Also, is fitment the same on 240z's as 260's? I remember on one website they said that i would need the 240 air dam because my 260 is an early one... Quote
benny Posted May 10, 2012 Posted May 10, 2012 Fitment is the same... PM Roberto i think he has a brand new spare one Quote
d3c0y Posted May 10, 2012 Posted May 10, 2012 They will talking about 280Z more likely. Should be around $450. Quote
DreamZproject Posted May 10, 2012 Author Posted May 10, 2012 Hmmm this sounds tempting. If i cant find anything before the point where you need to know, I'll drop you a PM, and I'll go with your very generous offer! Thanks decoy! Quote
DreamZproject Posted May 10, 2012 Author Posted May 10, 2012 I just got a reply from Roberto, and he's willing to part with his airdam! So, what courier company have you guys been using to move around your bumpers? I remember hearing that there is a company that will do it for something crazy like $30, is this right??? Thank you all very much for the replies, and information that i needed. Hopefuly this thread should help someone else in the future... (or not considering how the issue was resolved ) Thank you everyone that contributed your time and knowledge for a begginer Z lover! -Robbie Quote
Retro Z Posted May 10, 2012 Posted May 10, 2012 Try smartsend.com.au or e-go.com.au I've used both many times. It should cost you less than $50, as i've had full bodykits delivered for $80-$100 from Qld and SA. Use the ebay buyer option and carton/satchel option for best prices. Quote
Patch Posted May 11, 2012 Posted May 11, 2012 Found these a while back but could not track them down, they have just re-listed again. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/New-Datsun-240Z-260Z-front-bumper-Lips-spoiler-body-kit-x-1-/350562456642?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item519f269442 ebay store for others. http://stores.ebay.com.au/mybodykits?_trksid=p4340.l2563 Quote
