Hi everyone,

i sometimes come to read your forum as i think it has some very good technical information and I'd like to thanks the members who take the time to educate us on the hints they find about the s30z.

I own a european market 1973 240z . I rebuilt the engine last year and I am currently in the process of upgrading the brakes with vented S12-8 callipers. I am also currently rebuilding the suspension.

Here are pictures taken last summer.

No sooner had I asked for photos I get them.  Excellent service Mitz and welcome again.

Very neat looking girl you have there.  She does look like she's on stilts compared to most of ours, but she's beautiful with long legs  ::)

yeah, it's a bit high currently. I'll soon fit some lowering springs.

For the story:

The car has been firstly registered in January 1974 in France. I bought it in 2008 and imported it into Switzerland and went to the pain of registration/homologation in Switzerland. For this I had to repair perfectly the body so a lot of welding was done.

I am enjoying it very much and am participating to classic car events with my club http://datsun-france.fr such as LeMans classic, Spa Classic...etc. It's really nice to drive in summer on the Alps twisty roads.

Awesome, it would be a dream of mine to drive the Swiss Alps in a classic car like the S30, with any luck I'll do it in a more modern classic in the not too distant future. I like the light covers you have installed and the period wheels are good also in gold.

Did European spec cars come with the wing mirrors or were they fitted later like that?

No wing mirror, only a single mirror on the driver door.

Is this your dream?  ;)

some spec of the european model:

- suspension springs are different length and strength, at the front, the spring cup is welded higher on the leg.

- 5 speed gearbox standard

- front rubber air dam and rear plastic wing are standard

- no rear marker light

- front indicator light is a square ugly thing mounted over the bumper, and is often placed below by the owner like in the 4th picture.

- 22mm front antiroll bar and 20mm rear antiroll bar both from factory.

Hi! What Canton are you in? (city/town)

I visited France ,Switzerland and Germany last year, hired a Turbo Diesel Golf GTD, drove down int France from Black forest, then came back up along french/swiss alps, over into Geneve/Lucerne, back into Shwarzwald, had an absolute ball, roads are amazing!

Yes did nNurburgring etc all in June, fantastic summer weather

I am back again later this year, and will be visting Switzerland again, but before i will have four days between two conducted tours, to find a race track to hire a car.

We are thinking of train from Paris to Bruges, stay in Bruges for four nights??, hire a car, drive to Spa?, hire a race car for half day, then go back and be tourists around Bruges!

Any suggestions? Any other tracks that operate race car rental, Nurburgring will be too far away.

We could catch train from Gare DeNord/Paris to elsewhere?, but have to be in Amstetdam four days later to pick up next tour!

BTW that one finishes in Zurich, after visiting Interlaken Basel etc.

Hi, I’m from Neuchâtel

At which period do you plan to be in Europe? There are a some events that may be worth going if you are there.

For the circuit tracks, I’m not used to rent car at tracks so I don’t know. I can give you two lists of tracks in france:

http://circuits.online.free.fr/circuit/franceasphalt.htm
