  1. It's what I thought it would be that's why I'm surprised to have 20mm gap if it's for the solid caliper. So to summarize, the gap for: 'vented' S12+8 calliper is 23mm 'solid' S12+8 calliper is 15mm and mine are 20mm -> What's the problem with mine? I suppose they machined it too much during rebuild. Is this possible? What do you think? Could there be a third version of this calliper?
  2. Hi, I’m from Neuchâtel At which period do you plan to be in Europe? There are a some events that may be worth going if you are there. For the circuit tracks, I’m not used to rent car at tracks so I don’t know. I can give you two lists of tracks in france: http://www.pilotedudimanche.net/circuits-automobile-france.html http://circuits.online.free.fr/circuit/franceasphalt.htm http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_motor_racing_tracks
  3. some spec of the european model: - suspension springs are different length and strength, at the front, the spring cup is welded higher on the leg. - 5 speed gearbox standard - front rubber air dam and rear plastic wing are standard - no rear marker light - front indicator light is a square ugly thing mounted over the bumper, and is often placed below by the owner like in the 4th picture. - 22mm front antiroll bar and 20mm rear antiroll bar both from factory.
  4. No wing mirror, only a single mirror on the driver door. Is this your dream?
  5. yeah, it's a bit high currently. I'll soon fit some lowering springs. For the story: The car has been firstly registered in January 1974 in France. I bought it in 2008 and imported it into Switzerland and went to the pain of registration/homologation in Switzerland. For this I had to repair perfectly the body so a lot of welding was done. I am enjoying it very much and am participating to classic car events with my club http://datsun-france.fr such as LeMans classic, Spa Classic...etc. It's really nice to drive in summer on the Alps twisty roads. old pictures:
  6. In fact I ordered the callipers for a HJ60 series landcruiser with the good reference number, and I believe that the wrong callipers were put in the parcel. This is what I ordered: http://www.123piecesderechange.ch/cgi-bin/atm_shop.pl?dsco=26&language=fr&ansicht=autoteile&suche=autoteile100027&pag_goto_page=0&pag_select_items_per_page=10&&zubdetails=ERSA-221046&FZGNR=6765 Here is my presentation, http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/topic,10612.0.html
  7. Hi everyone, i sometimes come to read your forum as i think it has some very good technical information and I'd like to thanks the members who take the time to educate us on the hints they find about the s30z. I own a european market 1973 240z . I rebuilt the engine last year and I am currently in the process of upgrading the brakes with vented S12-8 callipers. I am also currently rebuilding the suspension. Here are pictures taken last summer.
  8. This is a very interesting thread for me because I bought the S12-8 rebuilt callipers for the 20mm vented rotors. And I was surprised to measure the gap for the rotor at 20mm instead of 23mm like Luke measured. So it means I either received the calliper for the solid version or my calliper have been machined and they reduced the gap by 3mm during the rebuilt. EMPRACING, could you measure the gap on the S12-8 for solid rotors please? Is it 20mm?
