@Gareth - is this the company that helped you recalibrate your tach?

It looks like they have rebranded to.

Sorry, only just saw this.

Yeah that's them. They printed a new dial face and recalibrated the gauge to match MSD ignition and the new gauge face.

The quality of the new face plate was excellent, they even printed the little detailed writing along the bottom.

Yeah I've managed to trace the KANTO SEIKI letters and writing at the bottom.

That's when I noticed the little ADR on the Australian tach and now I compared with US tach's I am able to see that was unique to our market.

Since I don't have any of these rare tach's here to examine I've just been going by photos.

I've never seen 1 like that before, where did you get it?

From Yahoo Japan a number of years ago. It was advertised that it was from a Z and it is in a Zed housing but if not perhaps it was from a Skyline GTR (ie KPGC10)? The date stamp says 12 Oct but I can't make out the year. Perhaps Alan can shed more light?

My guess is that it's a reproduction of the Z432 tach or at least looks like a reproduction faceplate.

These 2 were also reproductions, that look factory.

I found this specialist shop in Japan.

Perhaps it is but it sure does look original with the writing at the bottom, hence it would be good if Alan can comment. Attached is a scan of the rally tacho from the Sports Option catalogue.

Certainly not from a KPGC10 as they are a fundamentally different design.

I think that's a late 1976 KS kensa-stamp on the back there, so contemporary with the S31s. Maybe a type supplied for and designed to work with the Mitsubishi 'orange box' CDI units. There was some variation over the years and I'm sure I've not seen all the different types... I'll look into it.

I've got quite a few Japanese, UK and USA/North American market tachs and speedos floating around in my possession, but none with the 'ADR' logo on, so clearly an Australian compliance thing. New one on me!

Isn't that 'IC' logo on the late KS tachs and speedos just the 'Integrated Circuits' mark though?

Saw this 1 yesterday on Yahoo! Auctions. It has the IC (Not the ADR). So you're likely correct on that.

Did the IC (integrated circuits come later)? As I've seen a few without this stamping.

I printed these out today to see how they look. Pretty sure I own the world's largest Rally Clock.

A little more refinement, still not 100% happy with it, but it's very close to the original.
