Ok next event for 2011 is going to be the first round of the MSCA sprints on Feb 20.

 

Now I just need to find were to get and entry for as the MSCA site doesn't seam to work any more?

 

Anyways anyone want to come along for a spin?

Hi Everyone,

 

 

 

I'm writing to introduce myself as the new Competition Secretary for the MSCA and to let you know of some very important changes the Committee have agreed to for 2011.

 

For the past 5 years I've been the Treasurer of the MSCA so blame me for any money problems!  I'm also a long term member of the Fiat Car Club and a member of CAMS Victorian Speed Events Advisory Panel.

 

Occasionally you will have seen my X1/9 on the track - usually getting in the way of the faster cars.

 

Recently I've been involved in developing the MSCA's new Web Site - more of this debacle later!

 

 

 

BIG BIG BIG Changes in 2011:

 

·        The changes below have been caused by my predecessor's overwhelming generosity.  Lindsay Coleman tried ever so hard to make everyone happy but in the process he nearly died from stress.  The Committee has decided to get tough in certain areas so as to ensure we don't  cause our volunteers to leave us. Without Volunteers, none of us can race our cars.

 

·        These are the BIG changes in 2011:

 

·        Late Entries will not be accepted. No exceptions and no excuses will be accepted. The Entry Forms will always stipulate the closing date for entries and this WILL NOT be extended.  So - no more rocking up on the day and expecting to get a run. It won't happen.  Apart from severe stress to our Volunteers, this is the main reason why we have late starts and queues at the check in counter. It also delays scrutineering.

 

·        Entries lodged before the closing date must contain payment. Entries without payment WILL NOT be accepted.

 

·        Due to our continuing inability to reconcile the "safety needs of our various "Clerks of Course" and the "speed desires of our Drivers/Passengers", we will not be running passenger sessions in 2011.

 

·        We hope to have a new Web Site up and running in a month or so. It will contain on line entry and payment. The existing site is not working as it was hacked by Russians - true! Don't try to use it because it may infect your computer.

 

Leather Shoes. Under CAMS Speed Event Standing Regulations (see this link) http://www.camsmanual.com.au/pdf/03_speed/sp01_speedevents_standing_regs_q410.pdf footwear made from flammable synthetic material, such as nylon, is not acceptable. This means from Round 1 at Sandown Drivers must have leather shoes. If you want to buy a cheapish pair, then FOOT LOCKER have several sports shoes on sale from $65.00. KMART have a reasonable shoe for $35. Look around. Try and avoid shoes with padded synthetic linings. Karting shoes are cheaper than Racing gear and very suitable.

Well, finally got my engine sorted out, as it turns out the problem was fuel system based not ignition as it appeared.

 

Final tune is a safe 18psi boost and 340rwkW on 98RON!!

 

So, I will see you all at Sandown.

OK, some results.

 

My best lap was a 1:22.7, about 2 seconds off my previous best which was set on the current tyres when they were new about 18 months ago.

I have not raced since as I blew my engine and it has taken a lot of time to sort some issues with a misfire.

 

Gerhard did a 1:28.8, and Ash did a 1:35.9 missing 4th. gear.

Was a fun day

 

Unfortunately had big gearbox issues with 4th not working. So after some consultation with lurch I decided to go from 3 Ed to 5 th. Then it would jump out of 5th half way down the straight?

 

Thankfully no porsche's t boned me

Hi Guys, had a good day at Sandown, great to catch up with all the guys and Jane. I raced on Kumo tyres for the first time and must say for half the price of the Bridgestone 550es and Toyo 888s I was only about 1.5seconds of were I would have been. Had fun in the 2nd run when we started in the wet and then had a dry line.
