Just out of curiosity Van, how many seperate "scenes" are you planning to have for the intro story or first offering? Gee, I reckon this will really turn a few heads in the Z community, not to mention others car nuts, (especially if the hero is killing the occasional honda in his racing days :wink:). The "DEMONZ" plate was only intended as a temp plate, but I might just keep it, as a big of a nod to Wangan The story's really not concrete at the moment, as I've been busy working on the backgrounds and personalities of the characters before moving onto the story itself. So I can't answer that just yet! Sco: It'll be based here in Melbourne. He might travel around the country for challenges, but it'll largely be focused on our little town! Quote

The lads and I over at JDMStyleTuning.com are thinking that Endless Spirit: Final Evolution Z would be a good name for the comic. It's got that real manga feel; because it makes almost no sense and it's just a bunch of disjointed Engrish Which is exactly what I wanted! ESFEZ! Quote

A thought; when you've got a cover with heading finished we could post it on the homepage with an introductory paragraph on the storyline and general comic info, (ie the location, characters, cars maybe some info on yourself if you want to have it there!?), and we can post it on the front page as a coming soon sort of thing!? Anyway we could let some anticipation build as your working on the first! Your thoughts? Quote

I'd wanna hold off on it for a while though, because even once the cover's done, the rest is still going to take a long time to finish. This isn't my fulltime job obviously, so it's going to be a looong process. I think it'd be better to wait until the first issue is almost done before I go building up anticipation. I have to confess that not much has happened in the last few weeks, courtesy of the fact that it's allegedly the season to be jolly, which translates into Vanlish as "pull in as much freelance design work as you can, so you can pay for them damn presents and bills, and then work your arse off boy". On the bright side, I've just acquired Manga Studio EX 3.0, which their website and a couple of Youtube videos assures me is the most badass method for creating manga and comics. Plenty of automated things like speedlines and halftones - which as we all know, are a staple part of the manga diet - so that should help to take some of the "OMG this is so much work that it's frightening" out of the picture. Stay tuned for more updates, most likely after xmas! Quote

I've returned to full-time study (bit disenchanted with my career lately), so combined with part time work to keep the poor student life from destroying me, I haven't had much time! I managed to sketch out a very, very basic sketch for the first page, and that's about it This is the main character and his best mate, off to pick up the Z from the docks. I've been wanting to start working on the tattoo style of art, so that I'd have a portfolio worth presenting to tattooists in the hopes of getting an apprenticeship. Being 27 though, I don't know if many tattooists would want such an old apprentice! I'd be a hell of a lot more dedicated and mature than your average 18yr old though, that's for sure. I have a tattoo on my forearm myself, with plans for a sleeve (but of course, money's always the problem haha). Unfortunately, I don't "live and breathe" tattoos the way most tattooists probably do (but that's only because I've always focused on my own illustrative style and I'm not covered in tats, so I figure it'd be difficult for tattoo fans to take me seriously!), so I always figured I wouldn't be a very appealing candidate for any tattooist to hire! Especially when my portfolio only has this type of work, haha (more of my stuff can be seen here: http://van.vox.com ). So if you wanna take a punt on someone, feel free to take one on me Edit: Ah crap, you're in QLD haha. Just my luck! Quote
