Administrators gav240z Posted August 4, 2010 Administrators Posted August 4, 2010 Just came across this, thought it looked pretty cool. http://speedhunters.com/archive/2010/06/25/car-spotlight-gt-rocky-auto-c110-skyline.aspx Quote
620Z Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 Never was a big fan of the shape of the rear guard on those. A mate of mine had one going years back. But that car looks really nice. The guy has done a top job. Good find Gav. Quote
Riceburner Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 Very very tidy, the paint still looks wet! Is that unpainted metal or rust I spy on the inside of the drivers door Quote
C.A.R. Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 I wonder how much Bog they plastered onto this one... Quote

But that car looks really nice. The guy has done a top job. Good find Gav. Yeah the rear guards is what killed the shape of the 240K coupe's. It just didn't flow with the overall shape, however by adding flares and cutting the guards it really improves the flow of the car. It's strange but the 240K shape is almost similar to the Mazda RX-4 or at least shares some similarities. Nissan never really raced the C110, although in 75 (I think!) it did appear at Bathurst - I think only to retire with engine trouble. Funny thing is, you couldn't give these cars away 10 years ago. They were being crushed and destroyed. In fact I remember seeing 1 at pick-a-part while rummaging around for Z-parts and thinking to myself what a waste to a see a 240K coupe here. Now it's a different story, they are quite rare and people have now seen the potential of them and the heritage being a GTR, so they are quite hard to find and prices have gone up. Supply and demand I guess. I wonder how much Bog they plastered onto this one... Is it RockyAuto who are notorious for this? I think you may be right... Quote

NZeder Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 from my point of view z cars where made for people who can drive and skylines where made as a joke lol. so in my books its all good well apart from the Nissan Engineers and Accountants back in the day that did not want the S20 engine between the struts of the Z which is one of the reasons there were only 480 of Z432 made (+ the L24 was performing well on the track so DOHC was not really required) Quote
