nat0_240_chevZ Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 Hi Guys, here we have my spare made up under floor / chassis rails to suit 240z and early 260z 2 seaters (the shallow type rails), Perfect for those whom need them, just need someone that knows how to put them in to do so, they need a lil bit of work to match up to existing floor bump easy for those mentioned previously. This section goes from mid/rear floor up to firewall and attaches to the front rails in the engine bay, they have the 2 tooling / alignment holes in them for easy check / measure when replacing them (same as factory), Made from 1.6mm 'G450 Hi-Ten galvanised sheet quiet strong for what they are especially compared to the stock items, i installed my other set into my old car and noticed the floors felt alot more solid, cannot comment on rigidity as i dont think these items really take any load except the ass of it occupants. Located in adelaide, freight available World wide at your expense Asking price $POA ---> see other link here http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/topic,11926.0.html feel free to ask questions, cheers nat0 Quote
MaygZ Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 G'day Nato, How long are they? How far down the body do they run? Are they the same length as standard? MaygZ Quote
nat0_240_chevZ Posted April 29, 2010 Author Posted April 29, 2010 yes, same as std. did you want longer ones??? nat0 Quote
MaygZ Posted April 29, 2010 Posted April 29, 2010 Some of the Ballarat boys and I were talking the other day and suggested running them back to the rear shocker mounts. Sounds like a good plan to me. Quote
Hunter Posted April 30, 2010 Posted April 30, 2010 How much did these cost brand new? How much for shipping to Tasmania? I have a 1973 240Z I really need to redo one of my rails. Quote
nat0_240_chevZ Posted May 2, 2010 Author Posted May 2, 2010 How much did these cost brand new? How much for shipping to Tasmania? I have a 1973 240Z I really need to redo one of my rails. These items are custom made, not sure what they would be worth 'brand new' or from a retailer like rare spare?? please read add where it mentions about the pickup or courier to collect, willing to box up but may cost more to freight for the person organising it. If you find someone whom wants the other side make a deal with them, would prefer to sell as pair. If there are no takes here on the forum, had plenty of interest in them, they will be posted on ebay. cheers nat0 Quote
nat0_240_chevZ Posted May 2, 2010 Author Posted May 2, 2010 I will ring for a quote Im pretty sure the only section of rail they sell is the very most rearward part, ie no front section which some people may need. Quote
nat0_240_chevZ Posted May 2, 2010 Author Posted May 2, 2010 SOLD, pending payment guys....... May have a 'full Length' pair available soon. Need to confirm their price however. Quote
PeterAllen Posted May 2, 2010 Posted May 2, 2010 Some of the Ballarat boys and I were talking the other day and suggested running them back to the rear shocker mounts. Sounds like a good plan to me. The rear sections are a PITA to make... there are many contours and each item is not symmetrical. Also a word of warning (experience), make sure they clear the sway bar. It took me two goes so I hope they are worth it. I also made the rails 30mm deep. Quote
Hunter Posted May 2, 2010 Posted May 2, 2010 I was going to ring for a quote for shipping lol. oh well Quote
nat0_240_chevZ Posted May 2, 2010 Author Posted May 2, 2010 most 240's dont even run the rear swaybar, not really need, may help a bit of oversteer but, but the extended versions do come with. I can get these made with whats shown in the pic from peter above. with a notch for clearacne for the s/bar or a slimer profile to get in in-front of the S/bar. Not too many ppl would want to go a deeper section all the way. unless they already have the deeper rail from the 260, as these cars will happily turn into a snow mobile (to skis and rear drive) if you go over a steep hump or driveway Can also be made with a thicker gauge material ie 1.6 - 2.0mm but there is more chassis stiffness etc to be gained by beefing up the sills and ther attachments to the A pillar / door hinge area. Also another thing to consider is one of those big bastard dash cross poles many later nissans run, they tie up the front end of these cars heaps, and cosidering they are even though 10-30 years its junior are quiet similar in manufacture, something to consider. nat0 Quote

If so that would tie in easily with the mounting my fibreglass dash. Quote
nat0_240_chevZ Posted May 3, 2010 Author Posted May 3, 2010 yup, and down and forward to stut tops also, use large endplate for bolting / mounting, unless you weld, but will need some reo behind where it mounts, thin wall'ed mild steel tube but usually the stock nissan ones are quite a high grade and have very good strength for what they are. good dash mount also and steering rack mount if you no longer use a stock one. nat0 Quote
nat0_240_chevZ Posted May 1, 2011 Author Posted May 1, 2011 I have one more pair, ie the ones i was holding onto for this new shell i bought, but it doesnt need them. 1 pair as pictured in original post. cheers nat0 price negotiable. in adelaide Quote
