TmurnaneX Posted April 13, 2010 Posted April 13, 2010 Hey guys. I know this has a billion topics but i can't seem to get a definite answer. If i could just get a few questions answered that would be great. I have a stock 260z 2+2 I was thinking Rota RB wheels 16"x7 +4 offset on the front and 16"x8+4 on the back. Now the questions The 2+2 has a bigger area for the wheels? So could i go 16"x8 on all corners or would that stick out the side? (don't want that obviously) 2. Will that offset fill out the guards? (I don't have flares) 3. Will they rub anywhere? Please don't flame me as I know its probably been covered a lot but I'm just double checking as its all a bit over the place. Andrew "Chicken" Hunter posted a good idea a while ago too (couple years) about getting a table sorta deal with all the maximum sizes and offsets for all models with the various mods e.g. flares, coil overs, stock. Here's the link http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/topic,3062.0.html I think this would be a great idea. Thanks in advance guys. Murnane Quote
sexual_sushi Posted April 13, 2010 Posted April 13, 2010 Hey mate, I'll let other people post info about the specific sizes you have mentioned but I borowed Steve's 17 x 7.5 Rota RB and it looked like this on my 2+2: http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php?/topic/58528-wheel-show-post-your-pics-of-you-wheels/page__st__1100?s=fc8ef53a14a082ea455edf87e748f0bf I thought this was stock ride height but I actually lowered it roughly an inch in photoshop.... Hunter Posted April 13, 2010 Posted April 13, 2010 Maybe from that post I made years ago we could just get everyone to post what they have under their car I will compile the info. EDIT: Topic created http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/topic,6790.msg61942.html#msg61942 Quote
zrevival Posted April 13, 2010 Posted April 13, 2010 the fronts will be pretty well spot on - because the rear of the 2+2 is so much fatter than the standard coupe, then your choice of rears may look undertyred. I recently purchased some 16 x 9.5 simmons with a +6 offset and fitted them to the rear of a 2+2 hoping to fill out zg flares. The whole wheel tucked really nicely under the guard and looked awful with flares on so i had to change the outer rim of the wheel (3 peice wheel) to make the wheel 10.5 inches wide to fill out the flares. The point being - don't be afraid to go 'fat' on the rear of a 2+2 Quote
TmurnaneX Posted April 14, 2010 Author Posted April 14, 2010 Maybe ill go 17" wheels. Fronts with 7.5" +12 and rears with 8.5" +4 Will the rears fit better? And will the fronts still fit? Not sure if i want to go up to 9" at the rear but ill look into it. Not sure if you can get 17"x7 but I'm pretty sure they'll all fit. If my calculations were right there's a change of about 2mm or something. Quote
herrods Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 i found the best place to get answers to this was the tyre place itself. there is no real way to tell if its going to scrub etc, some baseline figures can be set down, but mine dont scrub with me and my missus, but me plus a mate, well then the rears do start to scrub a bit on cornering. weight/spring age/condition/type etc etc, all contributes to one big unknown.... BenZed Posted June 2, 2010 Posted June 2, 2010 They will fit fine. 16x7 205/55 front and 16x8 225/50 rear. Quote

I see two options: get a fatter wife or get a skinnier mate. It's the Zed ride that's important, after all. Quote
