I know you have to be going to or from club related stuff etc...

I remember coming back from Point Cook on a Sunday after having Don Hill (NDSOC CH Plate - call it "Tech inspector") check my zed over and giving me the letter you need for Vicroads to register, a cop pulled me over and asked me what I was doing. Mind you my zed didn't have a number plate and no reg sticker either, but I did have a unregistered vehicle permit. He asked "why are you doing this on a Sunday?" and "what paperwork have you got?" I had to explain to him why I had to see Don on a Sunday to get the letter and in detail explain the process of obtaining CH reg. By the look on his face, I think he learned something that afternoon! Also, it helped I wasn't a smartass as everyone knows, they can really ruin your whole afternoon if they want. He let me on my way..thankfully! Had to explain all this twice because I was pulled over on the way there as well!

Most police that i have had encounters with in the Zed have actually surprised me and been really nice.. they come up strike up a friendly convo about cars and have made compliments.. something im really not used to! I even got pulled over once on a double demerits weekend and i was crapping my pants, the cop walks upto the window and goes mate dont worry, just wanted to let you know i like the car HAHA!

A good percentage of cars on the road today I'm sure are not roadworthy; I know mine isn't! (windscreen and just other minor $h1ty things). How many cars do you see with no rear lights operating at all? Or faded rear number plates...I thought they had a blitz on that years ago.....yet I see them on a daily basis. Yep. A mate of mine has a completely standard Peugeot 206 GTI (2004 model), and a cop tried to defect him for: Worn out brakes - he tested this by pushing the brake pedal. The car had new pads and discs all round, and stops on a dime. Gear lever throw being too short - ? Rear of the car being lower than the front - measured by eye looking at the wheelarches, which as on most cars, is cut lower over the back wheels than the front. Having headrests on the rear seat - ? And one or two other things equally as stupid which I can't remember. Fortunately, my mate is a mechanic by trade, and happened to have the folder of VSI standards in the car at the time, which is the technical reference for roadworthy inspectors. Still cost him an hour of rooting around for this ridiculous exercise though, and if he'd been Joe Public, he would have ended up with a yellow sticker for having the car exactly as it left the factory. I wonder how many smoky rusted out old Sigmas went past in the time he was sitting there.....

RBZ 260 Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 George i wont quote things as it will make a messy read. i speak from my own experience and not some urban myth someone chuck up. my cars have been always moded. i got a PDF file that i dowloaded from Traffic Authorities here in SA stating whats allowed and whats not....most my mods are 90% allowed the 10% are hidden ive been pulled over more times than i can remember. they tried defecting me but failed every time. still havent got any defects on any of my cars...... i agree there are retards out there but there are even bigger retards wearing the badges. little story on how much police knows about the rules it just happend few weeks ago to me. taking a car through roadworthy as it was repairable write off so have no plates. roadworthy inspections are done through transport authorities here. to drive or bring the car for inspection with no plates or rego RULE is u can A. TOW it on a trailier B. buy a daily permit c. trade plate. since i dont own a car trailer or trade plate my only and the cheapest option was to buy a daily permit. on my way to RTA about 500m away from it a PORKY pulls me over on one of the busiest roads. being absolute pain in the arse. RUDE, yelling and being a cocky bastard questioning and abusing me about me driving with no plates. ive explained to him and pointed to a A4 sized permit stuck on the windscreen as required that im allowed to drive this car with that and that he cannot do anything about it. i also chuck in for good measure ask him his id number incase im late for my inpesction as im not paying the 250 inspection fee again. i also sugested to him since he DOESNT know the rules to follow me to rego department which is just accross the road. reluctantly after talking back to base he let me go. again no fine just lost 5min of my time but it was worth it stiking it up to him. ive been pulled over few times for this most times they just check the permit and im on my way. others didnt know that i can even do this they were nice and let me go. AND now u tell me that they know they stuff PLEASE...... talk to the hand story 2. got pulled over for speeding fair enough... didnt argue. tried defecting me for exhaust and blow of valve at the same time. pulled out the PDF and told him to ring the base to question about it. told him my blow of valve is plumb back and my exhaust is large but not lower than 10cm also for him to take the dB meter to measure my exhaust noise. guess what he gave up and let me go he didnt even know what BOV does or when is it illegal and when is not as some cars come factory with one fitted. again they know they stuff do they????? hey not saying their job is easy. there are pink joks wearing snot kids out there that need punishing. but leave the guys allone that spent almost their last cent on the damn car..... and do things right. just becuse its a 200sx it doesnt mean im a hoon or drift around suburban areas or do doughnuts in maccas carpark.i never done a burnout in any of my cars.....im too much of a tight arse for tyres you right i don't like police. when i needed them for serious matters i was left on my own. they rocked up 50min after to "check up" . im guessing busy defecting cars as that more profitable for them.... but to their defence there are police officers there that are nice and treat u like a human being regardless what u drive. problem is my ratio of nice vs bad is in favour of bad. and 90% time i got pulled over is beacuse of the car i drive. the 10% is cause i was speeding 10kmh above speed limit. yeah u got me in a bad mood too im a short tamperd nutcase as well what can i say.... must be the wog part in me i understand u had better dealing with them than me. everyone to their own. hey what tha heck u may be a cop as far as i know but still dont care. hihihihihhihihihihihih BTW one of my mates is a police man......... he burns with pork, bacon and police jokes from me. so kinda know the inside workings of them too..... the badge idea wasnt mine but u got to know how and when to use it. few other tips but i think i'll keep them to myself.... but I still love you George no hard feelings mate free world.
RBZ 260 Posted August 26, 2009 Posted August 26, 2009 <3 thanks george. <3 back at ya. btw to clear another thing re reading some earlier posts. i never start being the first smartarse. if they nice to me im nice to them im actualy extra nice if ive done something wrong. they rude and treat me like crap for no reason at all i will defend myself in polite and respectable maner. yelling back and being violent wins u a top prize: ride in a cop car with free meal in jail.... but it helps a lot knowing few rules and questioning their thinking if u think they have no idea what they basing it on... but be careful some do know their stuff. getting a car of defect here first aint cheap or easy.
