Scoota G Posted May 20, 2009 Posted May 20, 2009 Having rebuilt, bought, wrecked and so on i thought we could post up some of the things we have found in cars... not just Zeds but anything you have found in any car. Please note Pictures would probably be good. I won't post up what i found just yet, i found it a few years ago but i tell you now, It's Worth The Wait. Quote
Zeddophile Posted May 20, 2009 Posted May 20, 2009 Don't got pictures, but at the workshop I used to work in, we had a car come in with the owner complaining of a bad smell in the car, and wanting it steam cleaned and detailed. Long story short, found a vacuum packed lump of silverside under the drivers seat that had a use by date from 3 months earlier. God it stunk, and it had gone all slushy inside the plastic. Quote
luvemfast Posted May 20, 2009 Posted May 20, 2009 Had an MQ Patrol when I was on my P's. Bought it from a guy who got it from a family friend. It had been sitting in a barn for a few years as the owner had died. So it was low km's. Anyway, on hot days it would get this really rancid smell. When it came time for me to sell it, I got a panelbeater mate to give it a clean up. As it had already had a respray. He was taking away some crows feet from the roof and found some bog above the driver seat. Under further inspection.......... HE FOUND EVIDENCE OF BULLET HOLES...........STRAIGHT UP FROM THE DRIVER SEAT. We think that the guy topped himself in the car, it can help explain that smell. EEWWWW Quote
Enzo Posted May 20, 2009 Posted May 20, 2009 A few years ago I bought a 280zx Fairlady that had a L6 2000cc efi engine for various parts. Gearbox, diff etc for $100 . The body was stuffed, But I found $13 in coins behind the seats making it an $87 car. It made my day. David. Quote

. Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 I was given a 260z 2+2 for nix. I had quite a haul to get it home but I figured I'd be able to use all the panels etc. To my surprise it had an L28 in it woo hoo. That engine is now in my 240z I almost took posesion of a 280zx from Mt Glorious. It had a rat living in the glove box. Quote
Scoota G Posted May 21, 2009 Author Posted May 21, 2009 Might be my turn, seeing as i started this thread. I bought a ford van from a wreckers a few years ago, paid $200 for it but it had a lot of junk in the back. Upon picking it up the guy asked me "Do you want me to clean it out" to which i replied "it's ok i think i can take care of it" So it was about half full of boxes and other stuff and after sifting a bit i came across a box that felt a bit heavy. Inside that box was this. Quote
TheZFeel Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 Wow nice gun, i wonder how much that thing is worth? Well i haven't got a picture of it but we found a riot bat which i think is steel encased in what i assume is very thin plastic, its light but even a light tap hurts with the damn thing. I keep it next to my bed just incase, Yes yes i know im paranoid : Quote
. Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 When I started grinding the rust and bog from my 240z the newspaper behind the bog caught on fire. he he. I suspect thats a common occurance. I know its not something I found in my car. But I have lost a lot of blood, sweat, tears and cash Quote
Zeddophile Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 what is it worth... if you don't mind me asking? A LOT, I'd be guessing. Huge collectors market for vintage firearms. But an actual $ figure would be interesting - made for a cheap van I guess! Quote
Scoota G Posted May 21, 2009 Author Posted May 21, 2009 There is a group in the states who can do searches on thr serial numbers on vintage firearms. They can tell you who it was issued to and other stuff. Quote
RB26DETT Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 Under further inspection.......... HE FOUND EVIDENCE OF BULLET HOLES...........STRAIGHT UP FROM THE DRIVER SEAT. We think that the guy topped himself in the car, it can help explain that smell. EEWWWW can get my head around how he topped himself and hte bullet holes came up through the seat??? Quote
stevo_gj Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 can get my head around how he topped himself and hte bullet holes came up through the seat??? Nah he meant above the drivers seat, in the roof. Although I cant understand why there would be more than 1 hole, unless more than one owner topped themselves in it! Quote
luvemfast Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 Yes through the roof. Although I cant understand why there would be more than 1 hole I didn't actually see it, my mate told me about the hole. At the end of the day it is speculation, but it adds up to the sale of the car and the smell. Quote
Mr240z Posted May 22, 2009 Posted May 22, 2009 Nah he meant above the drivers seat, in the roof. Although I cant understand why there would be more than 1 hole, unless more than one owner topped themselves in it! Try a shot gun.............up to 24 pellets. Thats more than 1 hole. Quote
RB26DETT Posted May 22, 2009 Posted May 22, 2009 ah i see, might give it a miss on trying it for now... Quote
