Here is a video of the my old man(rob devenish) up at the national at the sprint at morgan park with his freshly rebuilt car

Excellent in car Dan, It looks like a fun track?? Did you get a drive?? Whats the story with the zed? It looks to be very sorted, any photos, specs?? Where have I heard of your Dad before? has he done a lot of racing?

We have 15 minute sessions down here now days.

Can squeeze quite a few more than 4 laps in.

Our Police permit say's only four laps!! buggers. From what I've heard, I dont think most mainland states have to worry about a Police permit. We have to get one for every event, and they are getting tougher and tougher. Looking forward to running a mainland clubday!!!

hi nah i didnt get a drive i was stuck in melbourne getting my rally car ready for the first round of the vic club rally series.Dad just went up he has won his class in australian rally chamionship and he has mainly a dirt rally back ground but has been doing targa events and classic adelaide for the last few years he has been rallying and racing zeds 20 years now

Ahha I knew It!!! a real Zed driver!! If you tell me his Targa years I'll dig out some photos for him.  Did he come down for Rally Tas when it was a Gravel round of the ARC?? or Southern Safari. Top stuff. Is the Zed built to C3 specs? if so I'd love a chat.

As soon as I finished the last post I dragged out the big Targa book, opened a page and look what I found!! I'll have a look in my collection.

After watching this video the other night whilst away in country Vic for work the next day in Mildura I woke up to find an orange Z on a trailer staying at the same hotel so I introduced my self. Nice fella, Rich was his name and his car turned out to be the orange one in the video that your dad pases after getting past the silver car. Small world hey! As it turns out he and his wife (both retired) had actually railered the car from WA and back for the Nationals!

What car number at Bonnie Doon were you? I was in car #17 Datsun 1600. Gotta love that event.

he ran targa in 2000 and thats the car i own now as it was the codrivers car at the time of targa. He ran the southern safari i think 97 when he won his class in the arc up against steve winwood falcon and a few commodores  and thats the car he competes in bitumen rallys in now we are heading back to classic adelaide this year as well as a bitumen rally called asp rally in 30thmay 2 day pacenoted event down near victor harbour in sa

i was car 59 it was a great event i finshed 29 as it was my first rally in 3 years after i destroyed my last 1600 rally car and im just doing the rest of the vcrs this year

RE: Bonnie Doon tell Scotty its been very quiet down here since he left Tassie!!  My Zed ran the Safari in 1997, to get enough points to get to the final of the ARN Jnr Challange at Rally of Melb, where he came second. Small world? I remember reading an article on Wynwood and he as whinging about all the freedoms CAMS had 'given' the Zeds,thats why he was beat!! I'm glad to here it was your Dad who beat him. His old Falcon now competes down here.
