C.A.R. Posted April 17, 2009 Posted April 17, 2009 If you search for 'Datsun' or '240Z' on Google.com (not com.au) this site is on the first page! That's VERY impressive - it's even above ClassicZcar.com & hybrid! That's why this site has been getting so much traffic. Well done to Gav! Quote
fufu Posted April 17, 2009 Posted April 17, 2009 Gav have you been manipulating the page rank again? Nice knowing we are getting lots of hits. I noticed we had heaps of hits. My project page has had over 11000 views which is crazy. Before anyone makes the assumption - no its not me doing refresh on my own project page. Quote
Jospef Posted April 17, 2009 Posted April 17, 2009 It's incredible. One of my pictures has over a thousand views, and it's only been up since October. You can almost type in anything relevant to z cars in google and this site will be on the first page. Huzzah! Quote

mossy Posted April 17, 2009 Posted April 17, 2009 Is it definetly google.com and not google.com.au everyone is searching, because when I type in google.com on my computer it comes up with .com.au, same with yahoo aslo. Quote
Administrators gav240z Posted April 17, 2009 Administrators Posted April 17, 2009 Yes if you search from Australia we are #1 but it will vary depending on where you are in the world. If you go to www.google.com and search for 240z You will get a url like this: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=240z&btnG=Google+Search&aq=f&oq= hl=en is for English q=240z is the term I typed into Google btnG=Google+Search means I hit the Google search button as oppose to I Feel Lucky aq=f - not sure what this means I can probably find out oq= is empty To see results specific to the United States you need to add the parameter &gl=us geographic location is the United States http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=240z&btnG=Google+Search&aq=f&oq=&gl=us You will see we are not #1 in the US, because our site is Australian focused. I gave up a long time ago trying to get this site to #1 in coutries other than Australia simply because we are an Australian site and we don't neccessarily need American members, plus Hybridz and Classiczcars serves those regions well enough. I'm not looking to compete with those websites. There is alot of room for improvement in terms of Search Engine Optimisation with this website and alot of that will come from migrating to a new content management system. Thanks for noticing all the same . PS: Just because I work at Google doesn't mean I can rig the results . Quote
