There's a diference between S1 & S2 2+2 Doors.

The Bus is a late S1 I believe Dave...

I see :) Thanks for clarifying that ;)

hey guys

Your door looks different to mine... I had to mount the locking unit completely different because of the windows. I shoulda installed power windows first so I wouldn't have had to find a place where it wouldn't jam... ^^

this is a 77 so prob why:)

yeah minesis a 3/76 and has the same as yours. this one would be prob the late 76 or 77 78. cause i was looking at central locking as i had few difficulties mounting it. this seemed easier way but the door definetly different.

some things remind me when i was working on my 2+2. the pedal box clutch accelerator cable all very similar to mine. works well so u on a right track. ( i just wished i went the next step and installed with ABS, oh well something for the 240z.)

not sure did i see power steering on your list?

i cant wait to see this thing completed.

that power window kit looks like a very easy fittment. may have to look into this and removing my heavy 280zx motors to adapt this kit.

power window was awesomly easy! works very well and im very happy with it:)

yer i found some pics on the net of others that had installed the central locking kits where i did thats why i put them there, worked well.

no power steering or abs on this build... gotta go to the gym more before she hits the road:)

Nice, looking very good. Love the exedy clutch  ;)

thanx mate, that exedy was purchased for around 1900 out of japan before the economic crisis haha now they are about 2500-3000 landed:)

So how does that electric window setup work?

Do you just push original winder one way or the other to activate?

They're two things on my to do list. Windows and locking.

nah man, the window kit comes with like a cover thing that kind of goes where the old winder went and plugs that hole kind of thing and it comes with switchs that u plug in basically so it works off a pair of switchs like a normal electric window setup would... i will be using toggle switches to keep it the same as the rest of the switches i will have in the car:)

Far out $1900  :o

I wonder if I can get one for that? But first I have to get a manual, lol.

i highly highly doubt the clutch will be that cheap again... like i say, i see it up towards the 3000 mark now days... lol

hey guys, another small update...

i have bolted the gearbox subframe up but it still needs modifying to attatch to the gearbox which i have planned out but ill have to wait till i get the plate back in between engine and gearbox so i can get the holes in the right place.

planned out where im mounting my external coils, fuel pressure regulator, MAP sensor and couple other things:)

took a couple of photos of the rest of my accelerator install

and last of all showing you guys my lil drama with my throttle body:( not much room! woops lol but yeh gotta come up with a fix... probably going to have to chop the intake bit of the throttle body and kind of get it modified so that it comes off with bit of an angle to clear the wheel well

Great photos mate.

Shame about that throttle body, what have others in your situation done?

I don't suppose you could press in the guard a bit or cut and shut so there is room for a silicone hose to move around a bit.

Brilliant work mate  ;)

Hmmmm... well you are in a predicament then arnt you?

But atleast you are giving it a go  ;)

thanks:) giving it a go!

have seen others like recess silicon in there, like cut and shut but ill have to wait till i get some wheels back on so i can see how much clearance i have... ah ill come around it, just not sure which route ill take:)

thanks

Love your work.

Question, why are you running external coils rather then the standard or splitfire coil packs? Doesnt it just clutter the bay more and provide another connection that can go wrong?

Also, are you planning on running the valley cover? They are designed to run a valley cover as dirt can enter the timing belt housing from inside the valley i it doesnt have a  cover.... Rare to have issues, but a couple of people on SAU with 33's have run into it.

thanks mate,

firstly i decided to run the external coils as my ecu that im running uses waste spark for my setup so the external coils are bit more reliable for that setup. wont really clutter the bay much, there is plenty of room and im gonna have a super clean engine bay in the way she is all wired and stuff so i think she will be sweet

yeh i definately will be putting all the front covers over timing belt and ill be putting the center cover on too. its just sitting in there for bit of a mock up at this stage, i still gotta pull the engine out and make a sump, replace water pump, oil pump, tensioner, idler, cam gears, timing belt ect...

thanks for the questions and feedback.

you could cut the throttle body adapter off your intake manifold, change the angle and reweld, its been done before. Smiley

yeh ive seen that done before... just dont know if i wanna go down that route... i might be able to modify the throttle body but thanks it might be the way i have to go...

Just curious on the coil pack? What is it from and if you don't me asking how much? Thanks

the coil packs are genuine Haltech coils, $60 from www.tweakit.com.au

hey guys, got a few more pics for everyone:)

plugged a few holes in the firewall, mounted up the coils, welded some nuts on to mount fuel pressure reg and MAP sensor.

i also mounted my brake proportion valve, found a nice easy/practical/hidden spot for it(it wont be used seriously for racing, only for setup mainly so thats why it will be ok where it is)

well yeh the pics will follow:)

thanx

hey guys, as i mentioned earlier i have been working on my rear lights...

its something different and something i havnt seen on a z car, mayb someone else has but im not sure

involved a fair bit of custom work... i needed to replace the section above(bottom of rear hatch) so there was always going to be a fair bit of custom work happening... pretty much a reconstruction:)

hope you guys enjoy, give me your comments although i know a lot of people hate seeing the rear end molested haha

Definitely one of the better custom taillight setups i've seen, maybe still not my cup of tea though but I think it looks like it could have come standard that way...

Trying to work out what can be done with the tailights keep me up at night :(
