Your after triple dellortos for a 280z with a EFI engine ????

Just priced a set of three Dellorto's from a wrecker just around the corner from my work..$600. I used to find them for $50-100 some years ago. Reckons they are getting scarce now...too many Alfa's are rusting away and people snapping them up!

Whats wrong with that? I have a set to put on my EFI L28 over ther chrissy break.

I would assume it will give some more power, but mainly for the noise  ;D

Won't get to drive it anytime soon though as its planned to do some paint aswell.

I think it is the legality issue that stevo_gj is alluding to. Almost 100 % sure that EFI spec cars/engines have to retain their pollution and other doodads to be legal. But that is probably a QLD law and not a VIC/NSW/WHEREVER law.

Just tryin to get me head around this, You want to replace the EFI with Dellortos?

And i'm thinkin my life wouldn't be the same without hearing those 40MM Dellortos on my Z every day but it seems people are thinkin you want to run both.

Can someone please explain how you can run two fuel delivery systems.

I'm sure as Glen said that is what he wants to do. Those 280ZX efi intake manifolds don't breathe at all at anything above 5000 rpm. Unless you have a inlet manifold from a turbo 280ZX that have bigger plenums I wouldn't bother.

Ahh I see!

I have seen somewhere a picture of an EFI engine that actually had most of the Carbys still attached, it was complicated and the only purpose of it was to give it the sound of carbys with the benefits of EFI.

I remember when I first joined the NDSOC and at a MSCA event there was a club member with a quick 260Z that had a L28 with triple Solex carbs and on the manifold next to the head were six injectors. He was using the Solex carbies as throttle bodies when he ran the injection. Worked very well by the results!
