Someone should have read a map before they left!

...and suddenly we're nearly half way through 2024. Where does the time go?

Thought I'd chuck a little update on here.

The boys down at C.A.R have been hard at work over the last month.

How they received my 240z:

First step was to get the Firewall all repaired and patched up:

Then was to trail fit everything to see how it went:

The driver side front inner skirting panel was down around 10mm, so they fixed that too.

Chassis rails being prepared to be welded on:

All front end panels permanently welded in:

There was some rust behind the drivers side bonnet hinge which they repaired:20240506_120223.thumb.jpg.c18f11bd3cc857a119a94bf3e837faf6.jpg20240506_155718.thumb.jpg.9b5d1296d1582529403eebe52e8615cd.jpg20240507_140933.thumb.jpg.b2806638075408a54d53774d20309c6a.jpg

Which brings us to how she sits right now as of the 9th of March:

Motivation for this car went from an all time low to an all time high due to the front of this car being completely straight ready and welded on properly.

Obviously the next step is to do the remaining 50% of the car - the rear end.

Luckily, this should be relatively straight forward for the boys. All parts that'll be welded on are either NOS or reproduction. I know the Resurrected classics Beaver panel needs some work done to the top slam panel positioning though!

Well, it's time for an update!

Picked up the Z for C.A.R over the weekend, they're done a great job!

Overall I'm really happy with how the car is turning out. I ended up purchasing a set of Resurrected Classic doors as the ones I have will not be economical to fix. The doors fit okay but they will need some work.

I've also got Resurrected Classics guards too, but to be honest, they don't fit well at all. I've found a set of NOS front guards in the states that i'll probably import instead.

Next step is to get the car on my rotisserie and see what happens with the front guards. The paint shop was booked in for the next few weeks, but they may have to be put on hold pending on what happens with the guards.

Definitely getting closer though!

I can't emphasize how much work went into getting the chassis back together,
but my guys are really happy with how it turned out!
