Good luck mate, I was about 16 - 17 when I found my first 240z. Long story, but a friend now owns that car and I kinda regret letting it go, but at the time couldn't keep it.

That was about 8-9 years back now and finding one was hard but easier and much cheaper too. Like the early rotaries they have shot up in value and desirability.

Best of luck, there's a couple on Ebay now.

Read the guide on http://www.zhome.com/ before you jump in and buy that car. Especially the links on common rust areas etc.

Remember it is a 2+2 and has a slightly longer wheel base with 4 seats. The difference between a 2+2 and 2 seater can easily be picked up by the rear quarter window having a flatter top edge and the hatch does not sweep back as smooth as the 2 seater version.

I think you will be happy with this 2+2 and will be a good base and introduction for you. I started with a 2+2.

If I were you I would try ring the bloke who is selling the car on ebay and offer him $1500 for the car and see if he accepts it. Of course make sure you look over the car good. Get him to send you more photos of the rust affected areas and the engine bay.

Tell him you want to know everything that needs addressing in the car, so you do not have any hidden suprises when you get it.

Maybe a helpful member on this site may help you by looking over the car for or with you. Try posting in the QLD forum on this site.

Thanks Hunter i will have a read later tonight.. I just sent the guy a email asking to see more pics and so on... talked to my dad he sounds keen too so hopfully.>!!  It will be made into a 2 seater track car for about 2 years or so, wont bother me for a while.. 2 seater would be great but i dont think i will find one cheap enough..

I asked for detailed pictures of the rust and engine bay and front end..

I will deff ask around on the qld section.. that would be great if some one could..

any way i gotta get back to packing the house up, i will be on later tonight and have a read and let you guys know on how i go.!!

Thanks.

Nick

have you seen the car in the flesh ?

not sure where Nanango QLD is...but maybe one of the Qld boys could check it out..(probably 1500km's west of Brissy !!)

the paint looks ok, but it can hide lots of secrets. does it come with the motor ?? still for the $, looks pretty good.
