For the video game lovers

Im not sure how many of you guys play the latest video games. but i thought i give you few heads up on the ones that feature the S30 Z.

 

this is on xbox 360.

 

if u like simulation racing and want to modify a fairlady z 432 and 432R than get your hands on Forza motorsports 2. u can modify the s20 motor or do a transplant to a sr20det or rb26dett and then modify them further. also 4wd system too. now how about all wheel drive 750hp 800kg S30 and race against the like of ferrari and porsche. Also you can unlock and race the Nismo Z33 350z and the GT race cars from Japan. but it is very dfficult game but once mastered its great fun

 

for more arcade feel street racing you cannot go past Import Tuner Challenges. though there are few s30 in the game but you can only acquire a Wangan midnight looking beast at the end of the game.

very detailed graphics with visual comformation of the mods. ie engine bay. you can actualy see the filters and turbos increasing in size.theres also a Z32 and Z33 you can modify too. 

 

this is later version of the old game Tokyo Midnight challenge and Tokyo Extreem Challenge on PS2.

 

Basicaly u drive through the streets of Tokyo looking for racers to race after you high beam them.

 

Other games are Grand Turismo Series on PS1 and PS2 also Forza on old Xbox all have our beloved S30 Fairlady Z that u can modify and thrash without going bankrupt. Grand turismo also has the 280zx z31 300zx, Z32 and Z33.

I played a game called Midnight maximum tune in an arcade in Hong Kong where you can drive an s30 and modify it. I've got a little card you put in the machine every time you go with all your saved details. I only really played it enough to get some wheels and a carbon bonnet put on though.

Yeah i think that will be available soon on the consoles. i think the story line is very similar to the Import Tuner. have seen previews of the arcade of that game and cant wait till it filters down to the consoles.

 

but for that "real feel" i think Forza 2 will keep people amused for long time.

yeah this was fairly unrealistic but good fun none the less. You could feel the bumps on the road through the steering wheel, i'd like to play one of the arcades with a clutch too.

I wonder if they'll bring out a version on the super nes. that i would buy, but mariokart does the job for now.

interesting pitty its a pc based game.

 

ive shut the doors on PC as gaming machine. you cannot keep up with updates of the hardware to run the latest games. so now im strictly consoles.

 

be interesting to see if that will run on my PC at a reasonable FPS.

rbz 260 : me too. I ran quake4 the other night on my xbox and i also have it on my 3 x more expensive pc... The xbox kicked the pc in the gonads!

One other racer to look for is the street racer game coming from rockstar.

rFactor will run on just about any pc, you have a choice between DX7,DX8 and DX9. If you want just post up your computer specs and i will give you an honest answer, Also rfactor along with LFS have the best netcodes for online racing leagues.

 

I know it sounds a little dorky but there are some pretty serious leagues out there. Also its a hell of a lot cheaper than the real thing. Just to give you small taste you can use the proper motec software that they use in the real world to try and pickup a few tenths here and there. Also valuble for working out spring rates as you can see how many G's your pulling under brakes to try and reduce weight transfer. Keeping the tyre's even in heat is another challenge in its self.

 

You buy the software once and then the mods are endless and for free. Some of the mods like PCC07 have been developed closely with real PCC07 drivers so the end result is very very close. They are also laser scanning tracks now so you get to feel every single little bump as the real world drivers would.

Well since My brothers had a Xbox 360 for ages and never brought a Racing game, I had wanted to buy one for awile but diddnt think care to much for Any until i found that Forza 2 had a S30 in it, (thx rbz) I mocked up some painted on cheapo flares and Did the best i could muster up in a quick time, The game itself works really well, Damage is cool and paint is free >=D

Great game, completed all stages platinum.  Playing online is a great adrenaline rush!  Highly recommended.  PS3 only.

Holy snapping duck poo! I'd get a PS3 for Wangan!  After all I bought an Xbox 360 for Halo 3  and have only used it for 20 hours and I bought it the day after Halo 3 was released......does anyone want it?

Athalon xp 2600+

1g ram

80gig hd

ive seen that wagan midnight is on PS3 but playing it on arcade didnt impress me much.

 

though xbox 360 got given to me in a destroyed state so ended up fixing it and reflashed the drive.

games are copied and very cheap  

 

though for something of a wagan midnight experience on xbox 360 go for Import tunner. also forza 1 on old xbox. forza 1 on origianl xbox was realy good. you could even make your own car fom scratch.

 

I loved to go on xbox live finaly got my broadband but my xbox 360 being reflashed would only get it banned. the original drive died so had to get it flashed while at it y not free games  

 

i left forza for a while was getting frustrating. the 432R was not good enough vs the speed12 and the full on GT race cars. can keep up for a lap or two but the tyres and brakes give up than end up in the wall with big damage. need to find a substitute, considering i finished 60% the game with my two s30 its not gona be easy.

 

burnout paradise is good fun but i preffer when cars are more realistic.

 

now been practicing my thumbs on Project Gotham Racing 4 PGR4. real fun game. dont like the bike section bit annoying handling on the bikes. but the cars are briliant. in car view is awsome but difficult to be competetive.

Nurbergring (how ever u spell it) is absolute nitemare on snow but hell of a fun with the enzo.

also u can drive the first jet bike,first sports electric car that wipes the testarosa and the first Australian Supercar.

no Z unfortunately but there is the arch rival the 2000GT (apperently similar engine to the S20)

Also what this game lasks is moding. major mod being the colour of the car. no other setups. which is good. quick and simple racer. lot of different race styles and challenges. ie longest mono on the bike. do lap through the cone mark track (motorkhana style)

 

in process of getting need for speed pro street and the new game GRID.once the slackers that i know give me a copy.

 

also want to get wii mario cart. wii is another crazy machine for that maximum fun with friends. easy to play and mega laughs. bit disapointing on graphics (bout same as PS2) but the fun makes up for it. still the biggest current console seller. price still hasnt droped that tells you something.

 

 

hmm i feel like PGR4 now. have fun guys

 

 

PS for xbox 360. Price has droped on the xbox 360. u can pick one up new for around 299. im fortunate enough that i get my reflashing done for free.

I've installed rFactor. It's pretty good. I need to add some more parts to it to get the V* Supercars and loca l Aussie tracks but it looks pretty good. If anyone downloads the try/buy it's not too hard to turn it inot a full working version if you know what I mean.

 

I'm still trying to work out how to start a live game and have it come up on the remote server!? I start a new game live but others do'nt seem to be able to see the game. I've been trying to sort it out with Mick74 with no luck!?

 

Bluemoonstone, do you know how to set this all up? Maybe start a new game called AUSZCAR!

my  xbox died. what else is new from microtoss GRRRRRRRRRRR

 

but in process of getting a new one. its good when it works and games are cheap 

pitty the hardware design was done by chimpz and has lot of flaws. but they fixed most of them with the latest consoles. lets hope

picked up a new xbox 360 yesterday  . need to hot it up and back to forza2 i go and hopefully on live. most prob sometime mid next week.

 

another game thats creating a big buzz is GRID. havent played it yet but ppl that i know said its briliant.
