I had contacted the dashboard doctor and they quoted $650 plus transport to and from Newcastle so I didn't think I would get much change out of $800. I am keen on them (dashboard doctor) as I have heard they do very good work. Just looking at other options before making a decision. Quote

gilltech Posted May 31, 2019 Posted May 31, 2019 (edited) The one in the ad in the link you posted is for a S30 which appears to match our market 260Z. Is that what you want? Not clear whether it's an overlay, or one has to entirely remove the existing dash skin first before gluing it on. If it's an overlay how well does that work with the gauges? They are a tight fit already. Personally I'd look at the Dashboard Doctor's work first ie. quality - does new vinyl texture closely match existing and look right, etc. And their price surely will vary some depending how rotten and badly split the foam underlay is requiring less or more work. But I'd have thought the $650 plus freight would be money well spent on one of the most visual features of the car. Edited May 31, 2019 by gilltech Quote

I thought my car was a 1975 260Z but I was talking to a few fellows at the Phillip Island historics and one of them felt my car was maybe 1977 going by the style of the door opening and door catches and also mine does not have the air vent holes in the inner guards near the radiator support panel. The data plate had a rivet right through the number after 197 so I did not know what was missing. Being isolated here in Newcastle you don't get to see the work done by some of the Melbourne specialists so I am going to take the advice of those who have. Thanks again to all for your help. Quote
