Glen Posted June 1, 2008 Posted June 1, 2008 i just recently put a woodgrain wheel on my car and just love the feel of it. Quote
Toecutter Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 Wooden wheel...looks good but hands start swetting when driving hard, steering wheel slips through your hands then gotta wear gloves like i"ve had to buy as I have a wooden wheel. End result....look like a wanker! Sulio Quote
Evan Posted June 16, 2008 Author Posted June 16, 2008 I have never had sweaty hands when driving. Not sure how that makes you look like a wanker Quote
Toecutter Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 I have never had sweaty hands when driving. Not sure how that makes you look like a wanker You must be blessed! I remember someone once telling me how dogs get sweaty paws when they get scared or aggressive as a survival mechanism their body has to stop slippage in their case. I've always thought it's probably why some people get them when they get nervious or aggressive. So getting back to your point and just to clarify nor do I when driving to the local shops on Sunday however when it's balls out driving at the upper limit on hairy twisties I know I do and i think many others do get sweety hands. To stop my wooden wheel from slipping I had to buy some gloves, i don't like the look of it but they work, but i must admit if I see a bloke get out of a car wearing driving gloves on the street it can look like a bit of a toss. Administrators gav240z Posted June 16, 2008 Administrators Posted June 16, 2008 Now now Sulio, I'm sure you would look the goods with some white racing gloves, a matching scarf and pair of Goggles for that old skool look. I wouldn't think that the gloves are neccessarily the reason for you looking like a toss, that may be a result of something else . *Couldn't resist*... Back on topic I love the 3rd wheel pictured. Very nice. Quote

Have we got any info on well priced wooden gear knobs? Sulio Quote
620Z Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 Sulio maybe you wouldn't get such sweaty hands if you tucked your balls away driving on those twisty roads. I love the gloves I think they make you look really cool. Quote
FuzzyDropbear Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 I love the gloves I think they make you look really cool. Gloves, coupled with a cap and scarf as mentioned before would make you look like serious driver kidding. Only goes well when used on old school convertibles. I need a wooden one to match my wooden wheel. Have we got any info on well priced wooden gear knobs? Momo make a couple of not bad looking wood or wood with leather or metal gear knobs. I think they make some of their gear knobs with threads that suit nissans. But I think the ones on ebay are the universal fit type, however, a bit of electrical tape around the gear stick (if the plastic sleave doesn't fit) and she doesn't hold on too bad Not sure about isotta though, don't think there's one in their current catalogue. Sulio When i found out you had a wooden wheel i thought to my self fair enough for the gloves. I tried the wooden gear knob but thought there was to much wood going on. I didnt have matching stains though. Would make a difference. Quote
Toecutter Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 Craig enough about my balls. The wood does look nice but in terms of practicality I reckon a foamy finish would work best. Hmmm, maybe leather. Sulio Quote
