Paulo Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 Just a question... If I put my 1 degree negative camber front 240z strut top to the rear of a 240Z (Stuart Wilkinson item) would I a) get lower ride height and b) achieve the same outcome as a higher cost rear decamber kit from, say, KMac? Staurt has a poly product which replaces the rubber and off sets the strut insert location hole. Paulo Quote
C.A.R. Posted June 9, 2011 Author Posted June 9, 2011 Thanks for the heads up on the "Strut tower" mods Lurch. I'm looking at fitting King springs all round eventually but have been told that the lowest avlble is 50mm rear & 35mm front. Using your method will give me the adtnl drop i'm seeking on my 76 260 2str. Been advised to take msrmnt from centre of wheel to bottom of wheel arch to obtain clearances reqrd. Is this correct to your thinking. I thought it was just a matter of RTA NSW rqrmnts 100mm grnd clrnce to anything underneath & then chose hght to your desire. Regards: Alan. Alan, that info is correct. Just a question... Paulo Paul, A: Not you will not get it lower as you already have the lower tops in the rear from factory. B: Yes they will increase the static camber on the rear if you fit them. Quote
260z blues Posted January 25, 2020 Posted January 25, 2020 So wheres the best place to purchase these strut tops. Needing my suspension on my 260 2 seater sorted. Quote
RAP260 Posted September 13, 2020 Posted September 13, 2020 (edited) Do I have to remove the traverse link spindle? I see it's possible with the 280z, to remove the strut without doing that. Edit : Through trial and error I discovered it is possible. But as this was my first time doing this, I learnt a couple of valuable lessons. It took a lot more force, than I initially thought reasonable, to push down the A-Arms. Was a little hesitant initially. And secondly, I had to remove the handbrake mounting bracket, as it limited the amount of travel possible. After that they basically fell out. Edited September 13, 2020 by RAP260 Quote
