aircobra Posted September 20, 2017 Posted September 20, 2017 tried to change in oil, but the diff drain plug ( 1/2 square "?) is just behind the rear crossmemember. so can't get either a socket driver or a cross bar in there. seems to be ~5mm short of space do i need to drop the rear cross member to get access and leave the diff hanging by the moustache bar? is there some tool i need to get? Agno Posted September 20, 2017 Posted September 20, 2017 If it's anything like the later Nissans it would be a 13mm square and not 1/2". I nearly destoryed the fill plug on my old R33 trying to open it with a 1/2" ratchet because the difference in size was enough to round the hole. Quote

gilltech Posted September 20, 2017 Posted September 20, 2017 Just stick a jack under the diff, drop the moustache bar out of the way, and a 1/2" socket handle - that's always worked for me; you could always slip a metal shim in alongside..... Quote
