Hi

I never wanted to put out a wanted ad but forum members have been successful in the past so here goes & due to recent posts here's my story.

I am 49 live on the Central Coast of NSW & due to having 2 adult kids i now have the time to chase my dream of owning my second Zed ( my first was a model car, 432 I believe in the late 70s ) anyway I have been a member for 2 years and a visitor for 2 before joining, I have studied the market daily for cars for sale & have inspected 5 so far.

I am looking for a well sorted Modified 240/260 2 seater to cruise through the mountains in on Sundays & wash & polish when locked away.

l would prefer a Restored back to metal Rust free body with NO FLARES.

A factory colour would be great but not essential.

RB Powered would be my first choice or a worked L series with running gear to suit power increase, 4 wheel disc brakes, lowered suspension, nice wheels.

These modifications are a guide as to what i want however can vary.

Clean close to factory interior.

I will travel to inspect any where in AUS

My Budget is to $50k

If you or somebody you know wants to sell their car please contact me by PM

Thank Scott.

The WTB ads on here do work so good choice.

50k is a healthy budget but asking for for a car that's been taken back to bare metal may exceed your budget considering the previous probably spent over 20k in panel work and parts..

You may be able to achieve what you are after by buying this (which you have already noticed) and spending some money on body work, flares can be removed and replaced.

Scott I may have a car for you, it's an L-series turbo. Well modified, bare metal respray. It's actually a Fairlady Z-L (S30, not HS30) and has the rally clock still in it etc..

It has been customised interior wise, but that's the cheap part to rectify.

I'll try and send some details later tonight.

Thanks Dionysus, how much do you estimated it would cost to weld the guards back in if he still has them ?

Scott,

I got onto Casey with the very clean white 240.

He is nw definately going to keep it.

My fault for convincing him not to sell, sorry, plus, he s buying one of my ex race engines for it!

Yeah thanks Jason, I contacted him the other day, he told me he was going to keep it and that he bought your spare race engine. That will be one nice fast car.

If i were a panel shop owner quoting that job id say 4 hrs a side @$120p/h + a respray. Id push for a full respray as trying to blend the rear guards would end up as almost a full job anyway, it would also be easier to replace the front guards rather than repair them, so they'd need to be painted too.

I would estimate $3500-$4000 would be a nice quote
