aj_ Posted May 7, 2016 Posted May 7, 2016 Mucking around with wheel options - and have attached my originals / current wheels + 2 x mockups. The mock wheels are just concept really, as I'm keen to see what black with a polished lip would look like on the silver Z. Thoughts? Alternates? I'm pretty partial to the black + polished - any tips on wheels I should look at? - For the mockups, I'm using vrimz.com ... which is a definite time-killer (I'm sure there are others similar, but this was the first one I stumbled on) Quote
George Posted May 7, 2016 Posted May 7, 2016 All subjective but I like your current wheels and would take them over the other options. aj_, Iceberg and Gtv240z 3 Quote
Moderators PB260Z Posted May 7, 2016 Moderators Posted May 7, 2016 (edited) Hi, Wheels are a very personal choice, some folks are all for period correct, for others they chase a new look for a classic car. For me I always knew that my Z would be light blue have Simmons V4's. I suppose the only advice I can offer is take your time and wait until you see a car that has the look you want. Triptych Posted May 7, 2016 Posted May 7, 2016 As mentioned wheels are very personal and there are many factors that come into play. I will be running black centre with polished lips 15" Work CR01's on my car (Insane sizes due to the flairs going on it) but my car is going Red with black highlights so it will help tie it all in. They were my original choice for the car when I was building it in my head and I did jump between a few wheel options from Watanabe (wouldn't have been wide enough), Panasports G7's (in 17" so tyres were easier to get), Work Equips, and I'm sure there was a few other ones. I think think a nice set of 15" work equips 03 look sexy on any zed not running flairs. Simmons are awesome as well if you can find a set in the right sizes.Although I am unsure how it would look on a silver car but I did see a zed running the same wheels as i am (just slightly different sizes) that went with black lips and polished centre that could work without any black highlights on your car. aj_ 1 Quote
Triptych Posted May 8, 2016 Posted May 8, 2016 Just did a quick photoshop of those Work CR01's onto the 260z you provided. Wont have anywhere as much dish on your car but it gives you an idea how it could look with black lip and polish centres aj_ 1 Quote

Moderators PB260Z Posted May 8, 2016 Moderators Posted May 8, 2016 (edited) Might need a drink for this.Just take your time, and most importantly, when you see a car that has the look (size and dish) ask what combination that car is running. Oh' and a drink or two always help get the creative side flowing Edited May 8, 2016 by PB260Z Triptych 1 Quote
Triptych Posted May 8, 2016 Posted May 8, 2016 haha the amount of numbers I have run to finally decide on my rims is insane. I ended up just ordering them (still waiting on them to come from japan) just so I couldn't change my mind anymore. Spent a lot of time on this calculator: http://www.wheel-size.com/calc aj_ 1 Quote
