Maybe try dat2kman, another forum member here in Brisbane, he's handled & repaired a number of gearboxes over the years.

Failing a 260Z box there are boxes from 280ZXs & other Nissan Datsuns that also fit, slight differences in ratios here & there, do a search on this forum as there have been several threads on that very topic.

Are you looking for 260 box specifically for the closer ratio gearset?

Or , just a replacement box?

If former, then yes, the 2.9 first gear 260 box is good, and are well worth the money to rebuild, provided teeth arent ruined.

If its the latter, just use any B type box from any of the larger older Datsuns, mostly they'll be 3.3 first, some ZX's and utes, had 3.5 first.

What is wrong/issue with your box now?

Interested in a neat proper Close Ratio box?

Ah! Ok then,

You can se pretty mch any f the std type 71B bxes.

Yes, a 260 box, s a sweeter bx, due to the ratios.

Hard to find though!

Start hunting for a Bluebrd /Skyline/ZX/24K box, but you'll also need a manal flywheel, pedal assy and other bits.

You can use a L20B flywheel with its corresponding clutch plate and cover.

It also depends on what diff you have and if you're wanting to change it. I believe that the 280zx boxes are more suited to the auto diffs however I'm still not sure how it all works (Just that my auto diff is fantastic with a 280zx box)
