Selling my set of genuine 510 (1600) fender mirrors. I purchased these brand new, NOS, about 1.5 years ago and they were on my car for about 5-6 months until I found myself a set of the slightly longer stalk S30z mirrors which I swapped over. Excellent condition.

I swapped the mounting pieces from the NOS 510 mirrors with the ones which came with my S30z mirrors, so as you will notice from the photographs, the mounting pieces included in the sale are missing 1 of the black plastic cups. This does not affect the mounting of the mirrors, it just makes it a little more fiddly to hold all of the pieces together by hand while you fasten down the mirrors. You can see from the photographs as well that a small screw has been used in one of the bases in place of the 'pin' which snapped off. If this is a concern, you can buy these bases new from ebay.

$400 located Brisbane.

Can post at buyers expense.

Only the length of the stalk and the colour. The S30z mirrors are black and approximately I think about 10mm(?) taller.

The size of the mirror is the same, as is the overall design

I'm pretty sure the stalk angle on genuine S30z's is also a bit different to the 510/Skyline ones.

Bit of a shame I don't know anyone reproduction the mounting hardware like the plastic cups etc.. You can get the base part (plastic) but that's about it a far as I'm aware.

There is a guy on eBay who does reproduction plastic bases, springs, and the metal mounting plate. That is all currently however

I think KB10 mirrors might be the same as S30, though I have never held them side by side to compare.

Only way to know is look in the parts manual at the part no's.

You can sometimes find cheap fender mirrors for sale on eBay and could possibly nick the hardware from there. ($50 only for this pair).

I had a potential buyer ask to see that the mirror missing the black plastic cup fitted fine without it so I have taken a few photos to show others interested. The cup does not affect the mounting at all however it most certainly makes it a 2 person job to fasten the mirror as it is impossible to hold the mounting setup together and be able to fasten up the nut all by yourself. Once all together it works fine. I used the mounting base with the screw in it in place of the plastic pin which had snapped off and this works and fits perfectly too.

Bad news is that my knee gave in while I was removing my S30z mirrors and I got caught on the mirror and snapped the pin from one of my S30z bases so I have had to pinch one of the bases from the 1600 set I am selling. The plastic base with the screw in it works perfectly so you could thread another screw into the (now) broken base or if you really want to purchase a new set of the bases from eBay then I am happy to adjust the price considering.

Also took some photos comparing the 510 mirrors with the S30 mirrors.

Completely different part numbers.

Sorry, but pretty much all possibilities on this subject have been investigated. If there was any exact like-for-like swap then Japanese enthusiasts would have been on top of it years ago.

I had a bit of trouble finding the part number for the KB10 sports option mirrors, what is the part number you came up with?

They are not 'sports option' mirrors, they are 'GL' model sport mirrors. They came on four door and two door coupe B10 models from 69-8 up. The later 'GX' model mirrors from 70-4 up had a metal-coloured (chrome?) rim around the actual mirror holder. The stalk slopes back towards the 'screen noticeably. Different stalk casting to the S30 type.

From the factory parts list for the B10 models:

96301-H0400  ASS'Y - BACK MIRROR - outside - LH - Black - GL

96302-H0400  ASS'Y - BACK MIRROR - outside - RH - Black - GL
